2016 Toyota Innova Crysta likely to be launched in May

The new Toyota Innova Crysta that was showcased at the Delhi Auto Expo 2016 might be launched in May this year, claim reports. The bookings for the vehicle are expected to begin a month before the official launch. The Toyota Innova Crysta’s latest variant is based on the new International Multi-purpose Vehicle (IMV) platform that makes it stiffer, lighter, and safer than the existing variant.

At the Auto Expo 2016, the manufacturer showcased two variants of the Innova Crysta – a 2.4 litre GD and a 2.8 litre GD diesel engine equipped models. Eventually, there is a high possibility for both the variants to be launched in the country. The transmission duties will be taken care of by a 5-speed manual gearbox and a 6-speed automatic gearbox. The vehicle’s new engine is stated to render around 10 percent more fuel efficiency than the existing diesel powertrain.

The new design of the 2016 Toyota Innova Crysta appears to be better than the existing one. The vehicle has new dual slats chromed grille, new sweptback fog lamps and headlamps, integrated LED, revised bumpers, multi-layered bootlid, daytime running lamps. The higher trims feature 17 inch alloys wheels and the lower models have 16 inch alloy wheels. The new Innova Crysta is wider, taller, and longer than the existing model and it has a wheelbase of 2,750 mm.

There are significant updates in the interiors of the 2016 Toyota Innova Crysta. The vehicle sports a 7 inch entertainment system with Bluetooth connectivity and voice commands, dual theme, and dual front airbags, and dual driver knee airbags. The other features are automatic climate control. EBD, ABS, rear parking senors, door ajar warning, anti-theft system, and so on.

The higher end models have an 8 inch entertainment system, wood finishing on panels, LED projector headlamps, hill start assist control, ambient LED lighting, and curtain airbags.

There will be two seating configurations in the new Innova Crysta. One will be a 7 seat variant with capital seats on the middle row and the other will be an 8 seat variant. The vehicle is expected to be priced between Rs 10 lakh and Rs 18 lakh.
