Apple launches cheaper iMac for Rs.79,900 in India

June 19, 2014: Apple has launched a new iMac in India which is Rs.13,000 cheaper than the present iMac’s being sold. The new model which is positioned as the new base model for the iMac line up is aimed at boosting sales in the Indian market. The new iMac will be sold alongside the iMacs that were launched last year. Apple’s new iMac has got a 21.5 inch full HD screen and is powered by a 1.4GHz dual core i5 Intel processor. There other features of the cheaper iMac are:

  • 8GB RAM
  • 500 GB Hard Disk
  • Intel HD Graphics 5000 (Standard Configuration)
  • 802.11ac Wi-Fi connectivity
  • Four USB 3.0 ports
  • Two Thunderbolt ports
  • Bluetooth 4.0 &
  • SDXC card slot

The new iMac comes with options of 1TB SATA, 1TB Fusion Drive and 256SSD storage options. Customers can buy from any of the three options and the pricing would vary according to the storage opted.
