June 24, 2016: As the usage of smartphone increases across the globe, the manufacturers are trying their best to woo customers with more and more attractive features. Some differentiate on the operating system, some on apps and some even on screen size. As the debate on what is the optimum screen size for a smartphone refuses to die, mobile handset makers are trying to attract customers with different screen sizes. This is happening more because of the fact that smartphones are no more used just as phones they are being increasingly used as entertainment devices or gadgets. Apple was the only company which was maintaining a screen size of around 4 inches for its iPhones. Other players like Samsung, Micromax, Karbonn, LG, Panasonic have smartphones above 4 inches as well.

According to a report that has appeared now in Bloomberg, Apple is all set to start selling bigger iPhones in China from next month. The industry has been ripe with speculations that Apple is going to come out with bigger iPhones in the future for some time. The report suggests that Apple is ramping up production of iPhones with screen sizes of 4.6 inch and 5.5 inch. Though the reports are unconfirmed, experts believe that this move from Apple was long overdue because of the fact that smartphones with bigger screen sizes are popular in Asia and other places. These bigger screen size iPhones may be shipped to retailers around September. It is also reported that the production of bigger iPhones would be carried out in Hon Hai Precision Industry in mainland China and for this purpose the company would be hiring more people in the coming months.
