August 12, 2014: Indian two wheeler giant Bajaj has announced the launch of two bikes to its Discover lineup on Monday. These motorcycles are named Discover 150F and Discover 150S and they are priced lesser than the Pulsar range making them more competitive.

In order to keep the cost of these new models low, the maker appears to have shared some parts with the existing Discover models.   Of the duo, the Bajaj Discover 150S is the most powerful offering in the Discover lineup of bikes. This two wheeler appears to have taken some design cues from the Discover 125ST. Furthermore, Bajaj has used the new DTS-i 150cc engine in the vehicle and this engine can generate up to 13.8 horsepower and it will be teamed up with a 5-speed manal gearbox. Also, it gets a disc brake on the front and a drum brake at the back.

Positioned below the Pulsar lineup, the Discover 150S will be a top shelf offering in the Discover series and it includes an analogue instrument cluster and switches from 125ST. Moreover, both the new Discover models are targeted towards the motorists who are looking for better value for money offerings. The Bajaj Discover 150F also employs the new 150cc four valve DTS-i engine that has the ability to produce 14bhp of power. This is similar to the power that the Discover 150S can render with a five sequential transmission.

Bajaj has priced the Discover 150F at Rs 58,739 and the drum brake variant of Discover 150S at Rs 51,720, whereas the disc brake variant of the latter is priced at Rs 54,725. Despite being positioned below the Pulsar 150, it is expected that the new Discover lineup will compete with the Hero Stunner and Yamaha Fazer.

On the whole, the new Bajaj Discover lineup is a classic street bike range that will retain the firm’s reputation with a fuel efficiency of 72 kmpl. They are available in a slew of color options such as Dark Blue, Wine Red, Dark Bottle Green and Ebony Black.
