April 30, 2013: Micromax which has been off late making some very aggressive moves in the smart phone market and had announced that they would be launching 30 new models this year has launched its first 3D screen smart phone Micromax Canvas 3D A115. One of the most remarkable feature of this phone is that it not require 3D glasses to view the content and it has been launched at an attractive price of Rs.9,999. What makes this Canvas 3D A115 special is that the only other smartphone with a 3 D screen, the LG Optimus 3D is priced at nearly three times its price that is Rs.26, 400.
The smart phone has got a 5 inch display, 1 GHz dual core processor and the technology to convert standard images to 3D format is embedded in this smart phone. Canvas 3D runs on Android 4.1 (Jelly Bean) and dual sim smart phone. The smart phone supports 32 GB memory card and has got a 5MP camera on the back. One of the drawbacks of this phone is that only a VGA camera is placed in the front. The other features of this phone are:

- 2,000 mAh battery which offers talk time upto 4.5 hours and
- Access to Micromax 3D Space
With Micromax 3D space, users can access 3D videos and games. Canvas 3D A115 will start hitting the stores from the first week of May. This move of Micromax is surely going to create some ripples in the 3D smart phone space. With the launch of Canvas 3D Micromax would be looking to repeat the magic of its Canvas series which recently achieved the land mark sales figure of 1 million.
