China to overtake U.S. in iPhone sales in future: Apple Chief Executive Tim Cook

Jan 12, 2013: China which is second only to U.S. market in terms of iPhone sales is all set to overtake U.S. market in future and this was said by none other than the Chief Executive of Apple, Tim Cook who visited China recently.This was his second visit to China in a year and considering the importance Apple is giving to China market, this visit is said to be very crucial. China has been a growing market for Apple and a very important market in fact considering that Apple sold over two million iPhone 5 in China within three days of its launch. Apple also has got a manufacturing base in China and has a tie up with Foxconn which has recently been in news for wrong reasons. Apple is planning as part of increasing the sales in China is planning to come out with a more affordable iPhone and is planning to start more than 25 retail stores in China. In his visit, Tim Cook also reiterated that, Apple will not do business with vendors who don’t follow company’s code of conduct giving out a strong message to Foxconn.
