Pune based DSK Motowheels will sell five super bikes that will come from its Italy based partner Benelli from March this year. These new super bikes will be priced between Rs 3.5 lakh and Rs 14 lakh and these are ex-showroom pricing in the country.
DSK Motowheels entered an agreement with Benelli in October last year in order to launch the Italian super bikes intoIndia. Initially, the firm will be rolling out eight bikes into the country and later there will be an expansion based on the response.
Regarding this, Shirish Kulkarni, Chairman of DSK Motowheels announced that deliveries of Benelli super bikes will debut from the second week of March in eight cities acrossIndia. He also confirmed that the super bikes will come with a variety of engines ranging between 300 cc and 1,130 cc that are priced between 3.5 lakh and Rs 14 lakh as mentioned above.
To go in detail, there will a 300 cc bike, a 899 cc bike, a 1,130 cc bike and two 600 cc bike. The 300 cc and 600 cc super bike models will be arrive as CKDs from China and the larger 899 cc and 1,130 cc models will be imported from Italy and assembled at the firm’s Wai plant near Pune.
DSK Motowheels previously collaborated with South Korean company Hyosung and sells six Hyosung super bikes in the range between 250 cc and 700 cc in the country via 41 outlets acrossIndia. Notably, the Hyosung and Benelli super bikes will be sold through different dealerships inIndia, added the executive.
He added that the Benelli super bikes will initially arrive in eight cities such asDelhi, Mumbai, Kolkata, Chennai, Pune, Bengaluru,Hyderabad, Ahmedabad andChandigarh. It was further claimed that they are expecting to sell around 2,500 units of the Hyosung bikes in the country this fiscal and around 3,000 units of the Benelli offerings in the country the next fiscal and shoot up the number to 5,500 units.
