Faasos and Goli Vada Pav QSR Chains to Rely on App for Faster Delivery

With the booming trend of use of smartphones and surging internet usage, quick service restaurants such as Goli Vada Pav and Faasos are getting inclined towards mobile strategy. Well, these restaurants are implementing mobile strategy to boost turnaround time, customer relations and churn rates.

Pune based Faasos has become a technology driven restaurant and it is all set to launch a new edition of its mobile application in March. It is claimed that this mobile app will provide an estimated delivery time once the customers order using it. This estimated delivery time is calculated based on how far the customer is located from the distribution center. The application will give priority to urgent orders from regular customers.

Regarding this new app, Revant Bhate, Co-Founder, Faasos Food Services claimed that around 60 percent of the restaurant’s customers have not come to a Faasos store as they are frequent users of the mobile application. He added that a majority of customers are held through the app.

Last week, Faasos was in the headlines as the quick service restaurant chain supported by Sequoia Capital raised $20 million (approximately Rs 120 crore) in a fund raising by Lightbox Ventures. Notably, this is the highest amount of fund raising done by a native QSR chain.

In addition to Faasos Food Services, Goli Vada Pav based in Mumbai is also working towards implementing one such mobile strategy. Notably, the Indian ethnic QSR chain relies on the upcoming mobile strategy to become a pilot home delivery model in the city ofBengaluruwithin six months.

Regarding this move, Venkatesh S, Co-Founder and CEO of Goli Vada Pav claimed that as of now, 10 percent to 15 percent of their orders are bulk orders such as 25 vada pavs or more. The restaurant chain is planning to increase this type of business that is especially from IT parks and large campuses.

Back in January, Goli Vada Pav is on an expansion spree with plans to open two more stores inKochi. The QSR chain is also planning to introduce new menu launches such as Limbu Po Rice, Vada Lapet and Lambu Vada along with the delicious and hygienic vada pavs in Kerala.
