Dec 5, 2012: Google India is bringing its own version of ‘Cyber Monday’ on December 12 and as part of that has partnered with around 50 e-commerce sites like Flipkart, Snapdeal, Croma, Geetanjali group and makemytrip. Sites like Homeshop 18 and Indiatmes Shopping are also a part of ‘Cyber Monday’. Online shoppers can log on to the site ‘www.gosf.in’ and get deals for 24 hours on this day. The products as part of the deal will include shoes, jewellery, apparel, home decor products, real estate deals etc. According to ComScore consumers spent nearly USD 1.028 billion online on a ‘Cyber Monday’ and it has become a major phenomenon over the years in the Western countries. With India witnessing a growth in internet users and as well as online shoppers, Google is trying to capitalise on a one day online shopping festival.
