The search engine giant Google has roped in around 300 online and offline retailers and consumer firms for its Great Online Shopping Festival this year. It is expected that over 100 million consumers will be making their way to this shopping festival this year as the trend of online shopping is on the frenzy these days.
The Great Online Shopping Festival (GOSF) is slated to be held between December 10 and December 12. Also, it is expected that participants from various consumer durable, e-commerce and FMCG firms fromIndiawill be taking part in the shopping festival.
The organizers will run a run-up campaign for two weeks during when it will reserve each day for a company to partner in a day long offers and contests for consumers, revealed the top executives of some e-commerce portals that are participating in the event.
Google and several other e-commerce partners are planning for some heavy-duty online advertising while consumer brands will look after the offline campaigns including hoarding and other outdoor activities, claimed a senior executive of an e-commerce portal.
This is Google’s third shopping festival and it is expected to create a bigger hype than the previous two years and hence, it is planning to line up products from FMCG, fashion lifestyle, consumer durables, arts and collectibles, two-wheelers and travel packages and other products.
Interestingly, this time organizers of the event will be introducing digital walls in several cities where consumers can order the products that they like to though their smartphones by simply scanning the QR codes of the products, claim sources familiar with the matter.
One of the top executives of an e-commerce portal that will be participating in the Great Online Shopping Festival revealed that they will be introducing a special segment called “Rs 299 corner”. This segment will sell branded products that are priced between Rs 600 and Rs 1,500 will be available for Rs 299. Also, these products will be delivered free of cost with the cash on delivery option for the first time consumers.
Furthermore, from November 17 and December 9, there will be a lucky winner everyday will be chosen and will be given a chance to shop for free and a slew of select items.
