The Taiwanese tech giant HTC has been in the headlines of Indian tech media since the last week for the launch of its newly announced Desire 820. But, the vendor did not stop with just one smartphone as it also took the wraps off two other handsets dubbed Desire 820Q and Desire 816G respectively.

Specifications

Elaborating on technical specifications, the trio of smartphones is given a large 5.5 inch Super LCD2 display carrying HD screen resolution of 1280×720 pixels. This results in a pixel density of 267 pixels per inch. However, the difference is that displays on Desire 820 and Desire 820Q are layered with scratch resistant Corning Gorilla Glass 3 protective coating, while that on the Desire 816G misses one.

In terms of raw hardware, HTC Desire 820 is incorporated with a 64 bit Snapdragon 615 quad-core SoC that will render its full performance only with Android L. This chipset houses 8 cores of Cortex A53 processors that are divided into two clusters ticking at 1.5 GHz and 1 GHz clock speeds respectively. This chipset is supplemented with 2 GB of RAM for swift multi-tasking.

The HTC Desire 820Q employs a quad-core Snapdragon 410 SoC with one 4 core Cortex A53 cluster ticking at 1.2 GHz clock speed teamed up with 1 GB of RAM. Last on the list, the Desire 816G is stuffed with a quad-core MediaTek MT6582 processor that operates at 1.3 GHz clock speed.

When it comes to the storage department, the Desire 820 and Desire 820Q are bundled with 16 GB of internal storage space, while HTC Desire 816G is packed with only 8 GB of native storage capacity. However, the three smartphones feature expandable storage support up to 128 GB.

Talking of the imaging hardware, the main camera sensor on the trio is similar with a 13 MP main auto focus camera coupled with f2.2 aperture, BSI sensor and LED flash for enhanced low light performance. On the front, the Desire 820 and Desire 820Q have an 8 MP BSI sensor and the HTC Desire 816G on the other hand incorporates a 5 MP selfie camera.

Apart from these specifications, the three HTC smartphones are fueled by Android 4.4.4 KitKat with Sense 6.0 UI on top. They are dual SIM offerings featuring dual front-facing BoomSound speakers and a juicy 2,600 mAh battery to energize them. The Desire 820 and Desire 820Q support 4G LTE, whereas Desire 816G is stuck with only 3G.

Price and Availability

HTC has priced the Desire 816G at Rs 18,990 and the handset will be made available starting from early October. On the other hand, the pricing of Desire 820 and Desire 820Q are not announced and they will go on sale on from November.
