Hyundai Creta Sports Utility Vehicle launched for Rs.8.59 lakhs

After much hype and hoopla Hyundai has finally launched Hyundai Creta Sports Utility Vehicle. The Creta which got more than 10,000 pre launch bookings was launched on Tuesday at a starting ex showroom price of Rs.8.59 lakhs. Though a lot has been written about the first impressions of Hyundai Creta now after its launch a more clearer picture is set to emerge.

Hyundai Creta diesel variant is powered by a 1.6 litre CRDi VGT diesel  and delivers 128PS of power and 259Nm of torque. There is another version available which is powered by 1.4 litre CRDi diesel and delivers 90PS of power and 220Nm of torque. Hyundai Creta Sports Utility Vehicle is mated to a 6 speed manual and a 6 speed automatic transmission.

The petrol variant of Creta is offered at 1.6 litre Dual VTVT engine

The other features of Hyundai Creta Sports Utility Vehicle  are:

  1. All variants of the Creta get ABS and EBD as standard.
  2. Mid-level variants offer dual front airbags
  3. the top-end SX gets side and curtain airbags with VSM and ESC

The company with this launch is looking to give stiff competition to Renault Duster, Ford EcoSport and Mahindra Scorpio. In days to come Hyundai Creta would be facing stiff competition from Maruti S Cross for which bookings have already started. Hyundai with this launch is all set to take the competition to the next level. Talking on the occasion of the launch Mr. Rakesh Srivastava, SR VP, sales and marketing of Hyundai Motor India was quoted as saying, “The response to Creta has been tremendous. We have had successful product launches in last couple of years but none has matched the reception that Creta has.”

Hyundai aims to sell a minimum of 5000 units per month is looking to give an altogether different experience to the customer by giving unlimited warranty for three years which is first in the industry. The spare parts cost is also said to be 2o% lower than its competitors. The company is aiming for a double digit growth target of 13-14% in the coming years and want to better the record of Elite i20 premium hatchback. Hyundai aims to be on a high in the festive season which has already begun.
