Maruti Suzuki, the largest car manufacturer in India announced that the sales of the DZire compact sedan have reached the 10 lakh mark in its homeland. The Maruti Suzuki DZire was launched in the year 2008 and it has been the leader in its category since the beginning. The vehicle has helped the manufacturer strengthen its presence in the country’s entry level sedan segment.
Having reached this milestone in terms of sales, the Swift DZire has entered the ‘elite million club’ that comprises of models including Alto (2.83 million), Wagon R (1.63 million) and Swift (1.36 million), stated the manufacturer.
By reaching the 1 million milestone in sales, the DZire is the only sedan in the top five best selling cars in the passenger car market of India. It has also been the best selling sedan for three consecutive years.
Regarding this R S Kalsi, the MSI Executive Director of Marketing and Sales stated that DZire is a complete package. It has a rich equipment list, refreshed looks and enhanced fuel efficiency. The new features of the vehicle include reverse park assist, Bluetooth with audio, engine push startDue to these aspects, the vehicle has been warmly received by the customers and it has helped the vendor in strengthening its market position even in the tough conditions.
Maruti Suzuki is exporting DZire to several international locations such as South America, Central America, Africa, Middle East ASEAN and SAARC countries. The cumulative exports of the DZire till June 2015 were around 50,000 units.
In order to celebrate this milestone that the DZire achieved, Maruti Suzuki India has come up with a new month long campaign called ‘The sweets are on us’. As a part of the campaign, the manufacturer will send edible direct mailers to the owners of the DZire sedan and also create edible art installations in the malls by artists.
