Maruti Vitara Brezza to be launched on March 8

The Indo Japanese car manufacturer, Maruti Suzuki has announced that Maruti Vitara Brezza will be launched at an event in Mumbai on March 8. The vehicle is expected to be priced in the range between Rs 6.5 lakh and Rs 10 lakh. The Vitara Brezza made its public debut at this year’s Auto Expo Delhi.

The Vitara Brezza is Maruti Suzuki’s first sub-compact SUV that will challenge models such as Mahindra TUV300, Ford EcoSport, and the yet to be launched Tata Nexon. The Maruti Vitara Brezza carries the credit for being the first product from the manufacturer that has been conceptualized, developed, designed and made by the company’s R&D team in India. The Executive Director of Engineering at Maruti Suzuki, CV Raman headed these processes. The Vitara Brezza that will be made in India will be exported to the markets such as Latin America, Asia and Africa.

The Maruti Vitara Brezza is powered by a 1.3 liter DDiS 200 diesel engine capable of rendering 200 Nm torque and 89 bhp power. The engine also powers vehicles such as S-Cross and Ciaz. A 5 speed manual gearbox transmits power to the vehicle’s front wheels. Initially, the manufacturer will launch the diesel version and later, it will also launch the petrol variant of the vehicle, and the petrol engine will be new and it will be the same as in the global model of the Brezza that will be launched in the above mentioned markets.

The Vitara Brezza looks sporty with projector headlamps along with LED daytime running lights, blackened A&B pillars, outside rear view mirrors that have integrated turn indicators, plastic cladding around its body, radiator grille featuring vertical slats, etc.

The vehicle has square wheel arches along with 16 inch alloy wheels, 198 mm ground clearance and a SUV look with high shoulder line.
