Microsoft to launch XBox One gaming console in India

June 10, 2014: It’s some good news for gaming enthusiasts in India. Gamers who were waiting anxiously for the Microsoft XBox One console to be launched in India have a reason to cheer. Microsoft would be launching XBox one in India near six months after the global launch. With this launch the gaming market in India which estimated at Rs.750 crore is going to witness some serious competition. Sony had launched the latest version of its gaming console, PlayStation 4 in India in January this year. XBox One console has been priced at Rs.39,990 without Kinect which is at the same price as that of Playstation 4 which is priced in India at Rs.39,990. With the Kinect sensor, XBoX One would be available at Rs.45,990.

Coinciding with the launch Microsoft in a statement said, “Every XBox One system will include the Xbox One console, which features a 500 GB hard drive, Blu-ray player and built-in Wi-Fi, one Xbox One Wireless Controller and a free 14-day trial of Xbox Live Gold for new members.” The company further added that, “The Xbox One gaming launch line up in India will be colossal, bringing the best line up of exclusive blockbusters, including AAA titles like ‘Forza Horizon 2’ and ‘Halo: The Master Chief Collection,’ which comes with the highly anticipated ‘Halo 5: Guardians’ multiplayer beta.”

It is estimated that there are 6-7 million regular gamers in India and at a time when the gaming market in India is looking bullish the action in the market seems to be getting hotter as the days go by. With XBox One gaming console Microsoft promises an enhanced entertainment and gaming experience which host of its features like Skype video calls, gesture controls and biometric sign in.
