OLA hires Rajiv Bansal Infosys’ outgoing CFO as its new finance head

Taxi aggregator OLA has hired Rajiv Bansal as its new finance head. He is the outgoing chief financial officer (CFO) of Infosys. This high-profile recruitment reflects on   the companies fight for top talented persons   among India’s cash flush startups. OLA is a mobile app used for personal transportation in India. It was founded in 2010 by BhavishAggarwal and AnkitBhati two IIT-Bombay alumni. At present the company has a network of more than 200,000 cars across 85 cities of India. The company’s estimated value is $5 billion (Rs 32,500 crore) Softbank, Sequoia capital, DST Global and Tiger Global is the main investors of OLA.

Bansal who has exited   from Infosys will be joining OLA on January 1, 2016 said the reports. Bhavish Aggarwal the cofounder and CEO of OLA proposed that the hiring of new finance head is a part of their line of initiative to get top talent from various industries across India  to strengthen the core OLA team.

When Bansal was quizzed by reporters about his future plans after leaving Infosys he gave the reply that he was looking to work with a firm which is in the value creation space. Mitesh Shah is the current CFO of OLA. This taxi app which competes with Uber has been looking for a finance chief for about a year.

Bansal has joined Infosys in 1999 and was appointed as the CFO of in 2012. He was one among the highly paid executives of Infosys. For the year ending March 2015 Bansal has taken home a package of $770,858 and stood next to UB PravinRao who is the chief operating officer (COO) of the  company  and Vishal Sikka, the CEO of Infosys. The salary package of the new offer to Bansal’s at OLA is not disclosed.
