April 6, 2013: As part of its strategy of targeting products for children in the 0-12 years Piramal is going to launch nearly five to six ‘unique’ products for kids in the next two years. The first product the company launched is an anti ageing cream and next it is planning to launch in May is a mosquito repellent band for kids. The mosquito repellent brand contains ‘citronella essence’ and this single band can work for 15 days. Piramal which is making these products in China might start manufacturing in India too.
The company is launching this unique product at a time when cases related to mosquito born diseases are increasing. Piramal has already started doing test marketing for these mosquito bands and they are focusing on the baby portfolio which is at present small. The silicon band which is a normal slap band is water proof and anti allergy which can be safely used by younger children.
