Poney, the kids wear brand based in Malaysia partnered with Franchise India, the integrated franchise solution company. This partnership is meant to expand the presence of the Poney brand in the Indian market. For this partnership, the kids wear brand has signed a master franchise contract with the Ajanta International Group, a Delhi based firm, stated a press release.
The statement further mentioned that the Ajanta International Group is in plans to develop as well as expand the Poney brand in India. The same is believed to witness the opening of several exclusive brand outlets as well as shop-in-shop in the metros and tier 1 cities across the country. These are expected to happen in five years of the brand’s entry into the country.
Regarding the same, Rajat Kapoor, the Head of Ajanta International revealed some insights of the fashion market. He stated that they believe that the kids wear segment will emerge the hottest in the fashion market segment in the coming years. Poney enjoys the benefits of the right kind of price tags and positioning in the fashion market. With these benefits, the executive is bullish that the business model will become popular and scalable in India.
The Chairman of Franchise India, Gaurav Marya stated that the kids wear market has gained a growth of 17 percent. This way, the segment has become the most attractive one in the apparel market in India.
Poney Group was founded in the year 1992 and it is a leading kids’ wear retailer in Malaysia. The brand specializes in an extensive range of fashionable and comfortable products for kids. The Malaysian brand Poney has three brands such as Poney, Poney Enfants and Baby Poney.
Apart from Poney, the American retailer of kids’ accessories and apparel, The Children’s Place recently announced that it is in plans to open its very first store in India in August. The first store will be opened at the Orion Mall in Bengaluru.
