Samsung Galaxy Alpha with Octa Core Exynos Chipset Launched in India for Rs 39,990

Samsung had been teasing that it will launching a smartphone in India today. As claimed, the South Korean tech giant has launched its premium smartphone, Galaxy Alpha for a price of Rs 39,990. The Galaxy Alpha has made all stones turn towards it with for implementing a metallic frame in its design. Also, the handset is pretty thin measuring only 6.7 mm thick that makes it a great smartphone providing a premium feel to it. Though the handset uses a metallic frame, it is still stuck on to a plastic back panel.

To refresh on the specifications, the Samsung Galaxy Alpha is given a 4.7 inch Super AMOLED display with a HD screen resolution of 1280×720 pixels that results in an average pixel density of 312 pixels per inch.

Though the handset comes in two variants, Samsung has launched the octa-core variant of the smartphone and this model incorporates an Exynos 5 Octa 5430 chipset that makes use of two clusters – a quad-core 1.8 GHz Cortex A51 and a quad-core 1.3 GHz Cortex A7 processors respectively to handle different tasks. This processor is assisted by 2 GB of RAM that should render decent multi-tasking and app handling.

In terms of photography, the Galaxy Alpha features a 12 MP primary camera with LED flash for enhanced low light performance and support for 4K video recording. Also onboard is a front-facing 2.1 MP selfie camera that will handle video conferencing and clicking self portrait shots. On the storage department, Samsung has used an ample 32 GB of in-expandable memory space.

For connectivity, the smartphone uses 4G LTE, 3G HSPA+, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth v4.0 LE, GPS and NFC. It runs Android 4.4 KitKat operating system topped with TouchWiz UI and operates a 1,860 mAh battery under its hood with Ultra Power Saving Mode for a decent backup.

Samsung has launched the Galaxy Alpha in slew of options including Charcoal Black, Dazzling White, Frosted Gold, Sleek Silver and Scuba Blue respectively. Like the firm’s flagship smartphone, Galaxy S5 the handset will come with a fingerprint sensor on the home button and a heart rate monitor at its back.
