Suncross Bikes rolls out new range of Raleigh bicycles

Feb 3, 2013: Suncross Bikes, a bicycle manufacturing company based in Ludhiana which tied up with Raleigh, a UK brand of bicycles rolled out the new range of Raleigh bicycles on Saturday. Suncross Bikes which owns the license to design and sell Raleigh bikes in India has launched six models of AT-Series Bikes and the company is targeting a sale of 45,000 to 50,000 units in India this year. In 2012, Suncross Bikes sold 15,000 Raleigh bikes in India. Raleigh has a good presence in UK and is a 125 year old brand.

Suncross which sells hybrid bikes, trekking bikes, full suspension bikes etc. has also got a tie up with Rockmachine, the US brand and Upland bikes, a Taiwanese brand for the Indian maret. There has been a demand for premium bikes priced over Rs.8,000 in India recently and the market is estimated to be 5 lakh units. A growth of 25 per cent per annum is expected in the market.
