Each one of us might have attended at-least once in our life a wedding that was managed by a wedding planner. Let me ask you – Have you ever attended a wedding managed by software?

If the answer is yes, lol! Congratulations, you have become the part of so called ‘the big fat Indian wedding’. For those of you whose answer is no, don’t worry, soon you will also be experiencing the same. Keep the word, may be some of you will use the service for your marriage itself!

Like Ranveer and Anushka in band baaja baarat you may also have started thinking of getting into the business of wedding planning. The concept has made great in-roads in recent years. And see; now you have the service of software to assist you. Sounds great isn’t it?

At early 2010, India witnessed some of the great weddings like the Bachans and Sahara group’s sons. This triggered the scope of wedding planners in Indian market. Even small and simple wedding seek the service of wedding planners now-a-days. With every one becoming busy in life, no one has the time to attend to every detail in a marriage function and here is the wedding planner’s role.

Foreseeing the potential of wedding market in India, a software company based in San Francisco developed software for the wedding planners called Shaadi-e-Khas in 2011. The software helps them to plan the wedding from guest invitation to feast. If you think it’s only the planners who can use the software, then you are wrong. Even retail customers can use it. A Delhi based couple recently bought the software to plan their wedding!!

The software is something more than just excel sheet. The software makes the planner’s work 80% easier by sending them automated reminder for every task through mail and SMS. They have also made their application attractive for the retail customers by providing web space to upload their pictures and videos and have listed 800 vendors who provide wedding services.

There is good news for vendors also; if you register with their site, you will receive automated messages of leads from their database and that too free…. this makes something sense for the vendors.

One of the first wedding planners in India, Meher Sarid said that the industry has now opened up. According to her services like photography, gift wrapping, moment makers, 15 minutes video makers will be in great demand for future marriage functions. Her latest client was cricketer Gautam Gambhir.

Today people want to make their special moments very special and they are ready to spend handsome to make them special too. The market is estimated to reach Rs1.25lakh crore and grow by 20-30% every year. What are you waiting for????……Run and make the day special for them and you.
