Xiaomi to Launch Mi Band Fitness Tracker and Mi TV in India in 2015

In 2014, the Chinese mobile handset manufacturer Xiaomi marked several highs after its entry into the Indian market as it became the most discussed brand on various social media networks. The company managed to sell over a million units of its offerings in the country in half a year, inspite it not setting an annual target or a retail outlet. Xiaomi was made available on through Flipkart.

Lately, Xiaomi was temporarily banned against patent infringement filled by Ericsson and was later let to sell only those Qualcomm based devices. The MediaTek based Redmi Note 3G variant will not be allowed to import intoIndiauntil February 5 that is when the next hearing is scheduled.

On Tuesday, the Redmi Note 4G went on sale in India via Flipkart for Rs 9,999 again via flash sale. Regarding this, Manu Jain, the India Head of Xiaomi claimed that the firm received over 200,000 registrations for the device in just four days and there is an amazing traction for the device in the country.

When it comes to roadmap of Xiaomi for 2015, XiaomiIndiaappears to be in plans to set up 100 service centers in the country, a R&D center inBangalore, debut with their own e-commerce operations and carry out strategic investments in the startup ecosystem in the country.

Besides these, the Chinese manufacturer is also planning to expand its portfolio inIndiawith the launch of more handsets and also enter into the wearable device and TV market segments. Regarding this, Manu Jain claimed that the firm is optimistic about the Indian market and is planning to make it better in the next year.

Xiaomi has already launched the Mi Band fitness tracker in the homelandChinaand it will be launching the affordable wearable device inIndiain 2015. Also, it will venture into the TV set market with the launching of the Mi TV 2 that is the second generation 49 inch TV based on Android.
