Yahoo increases fans, lifts sales

Jan 29, 2013: Yahoo has increased its fans and lifted it sales in the first six months of Marissa Mayer joining as the Chief Executive of the company. Yahoo has reported an increase in revenue for the first time in the last four years in the first quarter after Mayer joined. The experts term the stint of Mayer to be successful because of her renewed focus on “people and products”. Yahoo in this short period of time has added more fans by revamping Yahoo’s email service. There has been more users for Flickr as well as the photo sharing app has been redesigned and the result is that uploads have gone up by 25 per cent.

Mayer has also introduced several moral boosters in the company including giving away iphones and Android devices to staff and free cafeteria food. The employees who believed that Yahoo was all about lay offs and cost cutting has now reasons to cheer and all this has seen Yahoo increasing its revenue to USD482 million compared to USD465 million last year during the same time.
