BYD’s Global Expansion Gains Momentum: 90,000th NEV Delivered in Thailand

During the ceremony, BYD (Thailand) officially delivered its 90,000th NEV and rolled out the first Thailand-made BYD SEAL 5 from the production line at its Thailand factory.

Rayong, Thailand – Recently, BYD Auto (Thailand) Co., Ltd. hosted the “90,000th New Energy Vehicle (NEV) Delivery and First Anniversary Ceremony” at its Rayong Factory. Distinguished attendees included Mr. Narit Therdsteerasukdi, Secretary-General of the Thailand Board of Investment (BOI); Dr. Sumet Tangprasert, Acting Governor and Director, Industrial Estate Authority of Thailand (IEAT); Mr. Kalchai Thepaworachai, Deputy Governor of Rayong Province; and Mr. Wang Chuanfu, Chairman and President of BYD Co., Ltd.

During the ceremony, BYD (Thailand) officially delivered its 90,000th NEV and rolled out the first Thailand-made BYD SEAL 5 from the production line at its Thailand factory. Having achieved 90,000 deliveries in just three years, BYD Thailand has emerged as a benchmark in BYD’s global expansion. This milestone underscores Thai consumers’ strong recognition of BYD’s diverse product matrix and signifies a major achievement in China – Thailand cooperation to advance green transportation.

Dr. Somruedee Tanphairoj, Director-General of IEAT, attended the site commissioned by the Thai Prime Minister and Minister of Industry. In his speech, he emphasized: “Over the past year, BYD’s Thailand Factory has served as an exemplary success, validating Thailand’s strategic focus on promoting the EV industry. IEAT will continue to support BYD’s growth in Thailand.”

Mr. Liu Xueliang, General Manager of BYD Asia-Pacific Auto Sales Division, stated: “In three years since entering Thailand, BYD has not only committed to providing Thai consumers with cutting-edge technology, premium services, and superior products but has also deeply integrated corporate development with social development. From deploying BYD vehicles for disaster relief in Northern Thailand and providing emergency power supply with BYD ATTO 3, to employing over 6100 Thai staff (representing 90% of the Thailand Rayong Factory) within the first year, our localization strategy reflects BYD’s dedication to Thailand and its local community. This mutual interaction fosters cultural integration, truly embodying the ‘Thai-Chinese family bond’.

The 90,000th NEV – a Denza D9 – was presented to Ms.Nualphan Lamsam, President of the Football Association of Thailand, symbolizing its role as a culture bond of China and Thailand. This act exemplifies BYD’s commitment to localization and deep engagement in Thailand’s socio-economic and cultural development, sharing the fruits of green innovation with the Thai people.

The event also marked the rollout of the first Thailand-made BYD SEAL 5. The SEAL 5 will enter full production at the Rayong Factory, further enriching BYD’s upgraded product matrix to meet evolving mobility needs in Thailand.

From Production Powerhouse to Innovation Engine: BYD Thailand’s Global Exemplar Role

BYD’s Rayong Factory—a globally intelligent manufacturing benchmark—has achieved full-process localized production with an annual capacity of 150,000 units, while steadily advancing deep supply chain integration.

The 90,000th NEV delivery marks the successful implementation of BYD’s “global manufacturing and local cultivation” strategy. With the SEAL 5 entering production, BYD will further solidify its technological leadership in Southeast Asia’s PHEV market, establishing balanced growth for both PHEV and battery electric vehicle (BEV) offerings in Thailand. BYD will continue introducing tailored products to meet diverse Thai consumer needs—from urban commuting to off-road exploration, from family vehicles to premium mobility.

Moving forward, BYD will persist in its “globalization + localization” strategy, extending the Thailand experience to more overseas markets to share its green technology with the world.
