15th East Himalayan Trade Fair & 2nd East Himalayan Agri Expo to be held in Guwahati from January 22–28, 2026

Guwahati, December 17, 2025: The India Trade Promotion Organisation (ITPO), under the Ministry of Commerce & Industry, Government of India, will organize the 15th East Himalayan Trade Fair (EHTF) along with the 2nd East Himalayan Agri Expo (EHAE) from January 22 to 28, 2026, at the Assam Engineering Institute Playground, Chandmari, Guwahati. The fair will be open to visitors daily from 12:00 noon to 8:00 pm.

Announcing this at a press conference in Guwahati on December 16, Lt. Col. Harsh Kondilya, OSD and GM of Fair Division of ITPO, said: “The East Himalayan Trade Fair is one of ITPO’s flagship regional initiatives aimed at promoting inclusive economic growth, entrepreneurship, and market access in the Eastern and North-Eastern regions of India. Building upon the success of previous editions, the 15th EHTF is expected to further strengthen trade linkages while offering a vibrant platform for MSMEs, startups, Self-Help Groups (SHGs), farmers, and entrepreneurs.”

The event will witness expected participation from several Indian states including Haryana, Bihar, Delhi, Rajasthan, and many other states, which will showcase the rich cultural heritage, traditional crafts, and distinctive products of their respective regions through dedicated pavilions.

Key central and national-level institutions are also expected to participate. The Food Corporation of India (FCI) is likely to present a diverse range of rice varieties sourced from different states of India, highlighting regional diversity and food security initiatives. The Coconut Development Board will showcase a wide spectrum of coconut-based products from Southern India, emphasizing value addition and agri-based entrepreneurship. The Income Tax Department will engage visitors through interactive games, nukkad nataks, street plays, and awareness activities, aimed at disseminating information on tax policies and citizen-centric initiatives in an engaging manner.

Following the encouraging response to its inaugural edition, the 2nd East Himalayan Agri Expo will once again be organized concurrently, focusing on agriculture, horticulture, organic products, processed foods, agri-equipment, and allied sectors. The Agri Expo will serve as an important platform for farmers, agri-entrepreneurs, FPOs, and institutions to exchange knowledge, showcase innovations, and explore market opportunities.

In addition to domestic participation, discussions are underway for international participation from countries such as Thailand and Afghanistan. These participants are expected to bring products such as Thai consumer and lifestyle goods and Afghani dry fruits, adding an international dimension to the fair and promoting cross-border trade engagement.

The fair will also feature cultural performances, a multi-cuisine food court, and visitor engagement activities, making it an attractive destination for families and the general public. An extensive publicity campaign through print, electronic, outdoor, and social media is planned to ensure wide outreach and strong footfall.

ITPO invites the media and the public to be part of the 15th East Himalayan Trade Fair & 2nd East Himalayan Agri Expo 2026, which promises to be a dynamic confluence of trade, agriculture, culture, and regional development.
