Bengaluru, 18th December 2025: Instamart, India’s pioneering quick-commerce platform, has unveiled its Christmas DVC, and it might just be the season’s most adorable, toe-tapping watch. Set to the instantly recognisable and iconic ‘Bolo Ta Ra Ra’ track by Daler Mehndi, the film wraps a heart-melting Christmas wish into a sparkling, pan-India celebration, while reminding viewers that festive must-haves, like tiny, twinkly, and everything in between, can reach their doorsteps in just 10 minutes.
Instamart has secured official rights to the iconic ’90s Bhangra-pop hit “Bolo Taara Ra Ra”, adding its own Christmas twist to transform it into the ultimate celebration of pop culture and nostalgia. The platform has taken the toe-thumping song and reimagined it as “Taara Ra Ra, Ghar Ghar Aa Ra Ra”, which could very well become India’s desi Christmas anthem in the making.
The film opens on Christmas Eve, inside a cosy living room with a perfectly decked-out tree. Beneath it stands a 6–8-year-old Sardaar kid, hands folded, eyes shining, wishing with all his heart: “Santa ji, menu star bana do… main shooon-shooon har jagah jaawanga.”. A twirl of magic later, the Tararara beat drops, and our little hero rises in the air, transforming into a bright Christmas star. He bursts into thousands of tiny taaras that sprinkle across India like festive confetti.
Wherever a taara lands, joy sparks instantly. A Kerala verandah turns into a family dance floor, a Kolkata taxi grooves at the signal, carollers in the North-East break into jive, a Goa shack sways mid-dinner, fishermen light up their night at sea, nurses steal a quick festive dance outside a clinic, a Bandra couple goes full “Christmas-cool”, and even a heritage bakery joins the beat.
One taara, one beat and suddenly the whole country is doing Tararara. As the sequence builds, one taara drops straight into someone’s phone as they browse Instamart. They smile, tap Add to cart, and the VO lands the mic-drop message: “Christmas gifts se lekar Christmas tree ka taara ra ra… bas 10 minutes mein aa ra ra ra. Only on Instamart.” The final frame brings the story full-circle with the taara atop the tree transforming back into the little Sardaar, who winks at the camera because… he’s the real star of Christmas.
Commenting on the campaign, Mayur Hola – Head of Brand, Swiggy, said, “Christmas has a way of sneaking up on us in the most wonderful way. One moment you’re humming Taara Ra Ra, the next you realise you still need gifts, décor, cookies, or that one taara that completes the tree. This film is a musical reminder that celebrations should never pause for shopping lists. We continue to embrace global festivals, present them in a way that feels uniquely ours, and add more tyohaars for all of us to be joyous about. And needless to say, with Instamart, everything you need – thoughtful, twinkly, or totally last-minute arrives in just 10 minutes, so you can keep the party going.”
Following Instamart’s signature playful storytelling, the DVC turns a tiny “uh-oh, we forgot the taara” moment into a full-blown festive dance-off. Its message is simple and sparkly. No matter how last-minute Christmas gets, Instamart brings the joy home fast. While the ad film takes centre stage, Instamart is bringing a full holiday assortment, inclusive of Christmas décor, festive essentials, and a wide range of gifting options to shop on Instamart.
