Mumbai, December 18, 2025: Pokémon GO, one of the world’s most popular augmented reality mobile games, is all set to arrive at IIT-Bombay for Asia’s largest science and technology festival—Techfest 2025. From Monday, December 22 to Wednesday, December 24, 2025, Trainers attending Techfest at the IIT-Bombay campus in Mumbai can look forward to an exciting lineup of in-game bonuses, special Pokémon encounters and an official Pokémon GO booth designed to bring the community together
As part of Pokémon GO’s continued focus on encouraging exploration, social connection, and outdoor play, the Techfest 2025 collaboration offers a unique opportunity for students, visitors and Trainers across Mumbai to experience the game in an iconic academic and innovation-led setting. Nearby Trainers are also invited to visit the campus and take part in the Catch Cup tournament.
Pokémon GO at Techfest 2025
The Pokémon GO Techfest 2025 experience will be live from 10:00 a.m. on Monday, December 22, to 8:00 p.m. on Wednesday, December 24, 2025 (local time), with a host of special in-game features available throughout the event period.
Wild Pokémon Encounters
During the event, Trainers may encounter Pokémon appearing more frequently in the wild – Bulbasaur*, Charmander*, Squirtle*, Pikachu*, and Eevee*. Trainers may also encounter Lapras* and Snorlax*.
If you’re lucky, you may encounter a Shiny one!
Event Bonuses
Trainers can also enjoy the following in-game bonuses:
- Lure Modules activated during the event will last for three hours
- Trainers will earn additional Candy from trades
- Evolve Ivysaur (Bulbasaur’s Evolution) to obtain a Venusaur that knows Frenzy Plant
- Evolve Charmeleon (Charmander’s Evolution) to obtain a Charizard that knows Blast Burn
- Evolve Wartortle (Squirtle’s Evolution) to obtain a Blastoise that knows Hydro Cannon
Timed Research
A free Timed Research opportunity will also be available to all Trainers during the event. Completing the Timed Research tasks will unlock a range of exciting rewards, including:
- XP
- Stardust
- Lure Modules
- Encounters with event-themed Pokémon
- And more
Please note that the Timed Research will expire, and all associated tasks must be completed and rewards claimed by Wednesday, December 31, 2025, at 8:00 p.m. local time.
