SportsSkill Evolves to Democratise Sports Training: AI-Powered Platform Extends Reach to India’s Remotest Corners, Unlocking Hidden Talent

Mumbai, January 13th, 2026: SportsSkill India’s AI-powered sports and fitness platform, has evolved from a digital training solution into a nationwide talent discovery ecosystem—one designed to reach young athletes in the country’s most remote regions and give them a fair chance to be seen, assessed, and developed.

There are thousands of schools in India right now that are doing fitness and sports activities, even in small towns and remote areas. Many of these schools have more than 1,000 students. But for most of these kids, there aren’t many chances to learn from good coaches, get structured feedback, or show off their skills outside of their immediate surroundings. This gap between participation and opportunity is the core problem SportsSkill is addressing.

The platform now tackles one of Indian sport’s most persistent challenges: “How to identify and nurture raw talent when access to elite coaching, academies, and infrastructure is concentrated in a few urban centres.”

SportsSkill is using artificial intelligence and the knowledge of international coaches to create a way for kids in small towns who are practicing squash or badminton footwork to get the same chance at a professional assessment as kids who are training at a metro academy.

Abhinav Sinha, co-founder of SportsSkill, says, “We started with the idea that good sports training shouldn’t be limited by where you live. Now we’re moving on to the next step: actively looking for and developing talent that might not have been noticed before. Our AI helps us with finding errors in techniques.

In real life, this means that a student from a rural part of India can upload a video of their cricket bowling action, or that a teenager in the North East can share a squash training clip, and get the same objective, data-driven analysis as an athlete training at a top academy. The goal is simple but powerful: to make chances truly equal.

How It Works

The improved SportsSkill platform is a technology-based talent identification system that can grow as needed. The app lets athletes upload videos of their training sessions or games. The AI then examines key performance indicators, biomechanics, technique, and movement patterns, which we refine further with our expertise. Users get useful feedback, personalized training suggestions, and tools to track their progress over time in just a few minutes.

This approach removes long-standing barriers faced by talented children in rural and underserved areas. Traditionally, talent identification depended on scouts travelling to thousands of schools, tournaments, and fields—an expensive and limited process. SportsSkill’s AI, by contrast, can assess an unlimited number of athletes simultaneously, regardless of location.

The result is a powerful shift in how talent is discovered in India. Ability is no longer constrained by access to elite facilities or visibility in major cities. Instead, performance and potential take centre stage—wherever the athlete may be training.

World-Class Coaching, Local Access

SportsSkill has brought international coaches onto the platform, including David Palmer (USA), Chris Ryder (UK), and Elkheiy (Egypt). Their expertise is now available to any Indian with a smartphone and an internet connection. These partnerships bring globally benchmarked training methods, current sports science and international perspectives into homes across India—democratising the kind of coaching previously available only at elite academies or to those who could afford overseas training.

Chetan Desai, Co-Founder of SportsSkill, says, “Technology shouldn’t take the place of human expertise in sports; it should make it better. We’re not just letting a few people learn from international coaches by putting them on our platform. We’re making their impact bigger so it can reach millions. High school athletes in Manipur can now train using the same methods that make champions all over the world.”
