Godrej Design Lab announces Fellows for 2026

A year-long fellowship reinforcing Godrej Enterprises Group’s commitment to material innovation, ecology, communities and the future of living.

Mumbai, February 23, 2026 — Godrej Design Lab, an initiative of the Godrej Enterprises Group (GEG), today announced the selection of six designers reshaping products, spatial design and construction materials as part of the Godrej Design Lab Fellowship Programme. Rooted in continuity, context and care, their work reflects a new wave of future-ready thinking that advances purpose-led innovation and entrepreneurial leadership in design.

Over the years, Godrej Design Lab has supported several early-stage designers in developing pioneering ideas that strengthen climate consciousness, community wellbeing, and contemporary craft, including Rahul Bhushan, Taro Collective, The Vernacular Modern, among others. As a platform that values depth over volume and champions practitioners who expand the design discourse, the fellowship provides immersive learning modules, access to expert mentors and a project grant, reinforcing Godrej Enterprises Group’s commitment to nurturing responsible, future-focused design practices.

Guided by GDL’s belief that design is a living dialogue, not an event but an evolving ecosystem of ideas, the initiative brings together diverse voices across architecture, material innovation and urban systems. It has cultivated a strong climate-conscious design perspective, enabling ideas that move beyond aesthetics to address environmental realities, community needs, and the future of everyday life.

The six selected fellows bring distinct disciplines, geographies and methodologies to the cohort:

  • Chaal Chaal Agency – Design and research collective advancing small-scale infrastructures through participatory, low-tech spatial interventions
  • Imon Raza & Dr. Priyanka Das Rajkakati (CEPT University and Atelier Arth) – Research and data driven storytelling of climate change through film, exploring flowing narratives between Indian and French rivers
  • Leel – Textiles and material explorations rooted in ecology, natural fibres and craft-led processes
  • Lila – Design explorations around children’s furniture and the evolving dynamics of Indian domestic spaces
  • Tiny Farm Lab – Exploring and applying natural building systems rooted in craft, ecology and bioregion.
  • urbz – Interdisciplinary collective specialising in participatory urbanism, design and governance

Henry Skupniewicz, Head of Godrej Design Lab, said, At Godrej Enterprises Group, design is a way of thinking, a lens that shapes how we innovate, how we build sustainably and how we anticipate the future of everyday life. Through the Godrej Design Lab Fellowship, we aim to support practitioners driven by curiosity and grounded in purpose, those who ask harder questions and pursue ideas that deliver meaningful impact”.

Over the next year, fellows will develop independent projects supported by research resources, expert mentorship, and access to the broader Godrej ecosystem. The fellowship emphasizes regenerative approaches, climate justice, and community-centered futures. Their work will culminate in showcases at key design platforms, presenting future-ready solutions to practitioners and the public, an effort aligned with GEG’s ambition to achieve 50% of its revenue from green products and solutions.
