New Delhi, 16th March 2026: Nottingham Trent University (NTU), UK, has announced a comprehensive scholarship package for Indian students, offering up to 50% tuition fee support to those that demonstrate excellent academic achievement and the potential to contribute to the University community.
The merit-based awards come as India emerges as NTU’s largest international student community. The expanded scholarship support reflects growing interest among Indian students in UK higher education and aims to ease financial access to globally recognised degrees.
NTU combines academic rigour with industry-integrated learning and a strong emphasis on employability, equipping Indian students with skills aligned to global career pathways.
NTU’s flagship Excellence Scholarships are highly competitive, and are awarded on merit, recognising high-achieving applicants with significant tuition fee reductions. Undergraduate students can apply for a 50% or 25% fee waiver in the first year, followed by £3,000 per year for subsequent years. Over the duration of the degree, this can amount to total support of up to £15,350 (50%) or £10,675 (25%).
For postgraduate students, scholarship awards range between £2,000 and £12,500, depending on the level of award and the course selected.
Beyond the Excellence Scholarships, Indian students are also eligible to apply for a range of additional funding opportunities designed to further support their academic journey.
| Scholarship | Amount |
| Undergraduate Executive Dean’s Scholarship | £5,000 |
| NTU International Merit Scholarship | £3,000 |
| NTU International Scholarship | £2,000 |
| Sibling Loyalty Reward | 20% reduction in tuition fees for students with a sibling already studying at NTU |
| MBA Excellence Scholarship | Up to 50% of the tuition fee |
These scholarships underscore NTU’s continued focus on supporting high-potential Indian students and widening access to quality UK education.
Indian student Ash Sureshbhai Shah, NTU scholarship recipient, said:
“Being a scholarship winner motivated me to excel academically, knowing I had the support of the University. It enriched my university experience and instilled a sense of responsibility to make the most of my education. Like a cherry on top, NTU scholars have a special ceremony, and it feels immensely special for any student.”
All students who are successful recipients of a scholarship are invited to a ceremony to celebrate with fellow scholars and staff from across the university where they will receive their scholarship certificate.
Employability remains central to NTU’s academic model. Alongside strong academic foundations, students gain access to practical learning experiences designed to enhance career readiness. The University works with more than 2,000 industry partners globally, enabling placements, live projects and professional development opportunities that bridge classroom learning with practical application.
Indian applicants are required to secure an offer for an eligible undergraduate or postgraduate programme before applying for a scholarship. Awards are granted on merit and assessed on academic performance, leadership potential and the applicant’s broader commitment.
Scholarship applications will be reviewed in three rounds, with deadlines on 25 March, 22 April and 24 June 2026. Candidates are encouraged to apply in the earliest possible round to allow adequate time for visa processing and academic planning.
