Mumbai 2026 : It began as a fleeting pop-up: one of those nights where the room felt a little louder, and the plates came back a little cleaner. What was meant to be a limited showcase of Chef Lisa’s Sri Lankan fare at The Penang Table quickly turned into something far more electric. The bold spices, the unexpected depth of flavour, the sheer vibrancy of the cuisine sparked an energy that refused to fade once the pop-up ended.

Sensing this momentum, Kishore DF, the name behind iconic dining destinations such as The Tanjore Tiffin Room, Pot Pourri, and The Penang Table, thought of creating something long-lasting, together with Chef Lisa, who spent two decades in Sri Lanka, and has built a loyal following through her Goa venture, Jaffna Jump, driven by her passion for authentic, home-style cuisine.

“I saw an opportunity when what started as an extension of The Penang Table’s journey across the Asian belt evolved into a concept of its own. One that would give Sri Lankan cuisine the spotlight it truly deserved,” says Kishore DF, known for creating immersive, experience-led spaces that resonate with today’s diners.

Lisa’s Lanka debuts as Bandra’s first-ever Sri Lankan Bistro & Bar, bringing a bold, high-energy slice of the island to Mumbai. The space is fast, tropical, and young where sharp cocktails, addictive plates, and an infectious vibe take centre stage. It’s designed as an immersive experience that pulses with the spirit and flavour of Sri Lanka.

With Lisa’s Lanka, Chef Lisa now introduces Bandra to the rich, vibrant flavours of Sri Lanka in a setting that feels tropical, energetic, and inviting. She expresses, “Lisa’s Lanka is a heartfelt celebration of Sri Lanka’s rich culinary heritage, brought to life in the vibrant spirit of Bandra. We aim to create an immersive experience where every dish and detail tells a story of culture, flavour, and warmth.”

At the heart of Lisa’s Lanka is a vibrant, shareable tapas-style menu, bringing together the bold, punchy flavours of Sri Lanka in plates designed for indulgent, communal dining. Guests can expect standout dishes like Varuval fried Rice, Ceylon fried chicken with spicy Mayo, Tamarind chilli Chicken Wings, Soft Shell Crab Hot Butter, Avocado Pachadi with eggplant Moju, Crisp Banana Flower Salad and comforting Kottu preparations alongside crisp Hoppers and flavour-packed small bites that capture the essence of Sri Lankan street and home food.

Complementing the menu is an inventive cocktail program by Pranav Modi, where tropical island ingredients shine through in creations inspired by coconut, pandan, curry leaf, and citrus, along with playful signatures featuring Ceylon arrack, spiced infusions, and refreshing highballs. Together, the food and cocktails create a bold, high-energy experience that is both deeply authentic and excitingly modern.
