Shiv Nadar University, Delhi-NCR Marks 15 Years with Twelfth Convocation Ceremony for Class of 2026

Honorary Doctorate conferred on Bharat Ratna Prof. C. N. R. Rao C. Vijayakumar, CEO & MD, HCLTech, presided as Chief Guest Ceremony marks University’s 15th year 794 students across undergraduate, post-graduate and Ph.D. programmes were awarded degrees

Greater Noida, 25 May 2026: Shiv Nadar University, Delhi-NCR celebrated its Twelfth Convocation Ceremony at its campus, marking the graduation of the Class of 2026 and the University’s fifteenth year since inception. The milestone year also coincides with 50 years of HCL, reflecting a wider legacy of institution-building across education, research and technology.

  1. Vijayakumar, Chief Executive Officer and Managing Director, HCLTech, presided over the ceremony as Chief Guest. Bharat Ratna Professor C. N. R. Rao was conferred an Honorary Doctorate by the University in recognition of his outstanding contributions to science, research and higher education. The honour was received on Professor Rao’s behalf by Distinguished Guest, Padma Shri Professor K.N. Ganesh. The ceremony was attended by over 3000 people including trustees, members of the Board, graduating students, parents, faculty members, alumni and distinguished dignitaries.

Receiving the award, Professor K.N Ganesh, said, “As the graduating class steps into a rapidly evolving world, I encourage them to remain curious, embrace uncertainty, and continue asking questions that deepen understanding rather than seek quick answers. Science, knowledge, and innovation have always advanced through perseverance, problem-solving, and the courage to pursue curiosity for its own sake. What truly remains with us after we leave an institution is not only academic learning, but the values, relationships, and spirit of inquiry nurtured along the way. I congratulate the Class of 2026 and hope they move forward with purpose, humility, and an unwavering commitment to learning and contributing meaningfully to society.”

Over the past fifteen years, Shiv Nadar University, Delhi-NCR has emerged as one of India’s leading multidisciplinary research university. Bringing together engineering, natural sciences, humanities, management and entrepreneurship, the university has built a research-led academic environment that encourages inquiry, interdisciplinary learning and academic rigour. Addressing the graduating class, Shikhar Malhotra, Chancellor, Shiv Nadar University, Delhi-NCR, said, “Today marks a proud milestone for Shiv Nadar University, Delhi-NCR, as we celebrate the achievements of the Class of 2026 during a landmark year for the University. At our university, we hope to have nurtured in our students the ability to think critically, act with empathy, and remain committed to creating meaningful impact. India’s future will be shaped by individuals who combine talent with purpose, ambition with integrity, and success with a sense of responsibility towards society. We are immensely proud of the Class of 2026 and look forward to seeing the extraordinary paths they will forge.”

This year, 581 undergraduate, 158 postgraduate, and 55 doctoral students from the School of Engineering, School of Natural Sciences, School of Humanities and Social Sciences, and School of Management and Entrepreneurship were awarded degrees. Students were also recognised for outstanding academic achievements research excellence, leadership, and contributions to the wider university community.
