India, 09 June 2026 — Mountains to Cross is a new book by Dr. Abraham M. George about discovering one’s purpose in life, becoming a leader in society, and understanding social responsibility. The book has been launched in the Indian market by Notion Press.
Mountains to Cross is a captivating and powerful memoir that chronicles the fascinating journey of Dr. George—from the battlefields of the Himalayan mountains to high-stakes finance on Wall Street and ultimately to creating a measurable impact in his native India and around the world. In this compelling and rich autobiographical work, Dr. George shares his personal story of how both professional and financial success have provided him with a sense of comfort and accomplishment yet also led him to a larger mission in life beyond himself.
The author draws on his personal life experiences to convey that creating wealth offers the opportunity to build a better world. He points out that making meaningful contributions is not distinct from success; rather, it is an essential component of success. Making a positive contribution to society allows people to find a sense of purpose in their own lives and happiness. Through his personal story, he expands upon the idea that making money and having a purpose in life are connected.
The book Mountains to Cross challenges how society usually measures success. It argues that genuine leadership, whether in a boardroom or a non-profit organization, must ultimately be measured by the positive, tangible difference it creates for others—both rich and poor.
After achieving tremendous professional success, Dr. George decided to alter his career goals and use his resources, experience, and beliefs to help those living at the margins of society. Describing his shift from global business to the world of social change, this book challenges society’s definition of accomplishment and prescribes our responsibilities as leaders and the morality associated with striving for continued financial success. It questions the traditional view of success by offering an alternative definition that includes service to others. He describes education as one of the most effective long-term tools for striving towards equality and economic justice for all members of society.
Speaking about his latest launch, Dr. Abraham M. George said, “Mountains to Cross narrates my life story and the choices I made along the way. In my journey, I’ve come to realize that being successful means more than just financial accomplishments; instead, I have found my life’s purpose in helping others. In my writing, I convey the path of responsibility to follow. If this book inspires a few readers to think about their own success and consider giving back to society, then I will consider it a success.”
Mountains to Cross is a narrative of the author’s pursuit of purpose through his transformative social contribution. George shares his remarkable life story and offers guidance on finding satisfaction and joy in helping others. More than a personal memoir, this book motivates those who want to address systemic poverty and inequality but are unsure where or how to start.
Through personal stories and lessons from his experiences, readers can develop their own understanding of what it means to lead a life of conviction and engagement.
Mountains to Cross offers an intimate personal narrative and a strategic plan for building a life grounded in purpose, compassion, and measurable impact. Hence, it is a timely contribution to today’s discussion on wealth, leadership, and inclusive growth.
There is a broad audience for Mountains to Cross. This includes entrepreneurs and corporate leaders who are re-evaluating what success means; philanthropists and Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) decision-makers searching for evidence-based and scalable models of impact; policymakers and educators seeking sustainable reforms in the community; people seeking something more meaningful than financial success; and young adults wishing to create a positive change.
