Gandhinagar: Southern India is home to a remarkable diversity of culinary traditions, where every region brings its own distinct flavours, ingredients, and time-honoured recipes to the table. Celebrating this rich culinary legacy, The Leela Gandhinagar presents A Journey Through the Tastes of Deccan at Citrus Junction from 11th to 21st June 2026.
Bringing together the cuisines of Tamil Nadu, Kerala, Karnataka, Andhra Pradesh, and Telangana, the festival offers a thoughtful showcase of regional specialities that reflect the depth and character of Southern Indian cuisine. Adding depth to the culinary showcase, two chefs from Southern India will be specially invited to present a selection of regional favourites, bringing with them the flavours, techniques, and traditions that continue to define the cuisine across the region.
Guests can savour an array of traditional dishes, from freshly prepared dosas and appams to regional curries, rice delicacies, traditional snacks, and desserts, complemented by an authentic brass filter coffee experience. Vibrant live counters bring an interactive element to the festival, while the aroma of freshly brewed coffee, roasted spices, and dishes prepared to order creates an atmosphere that captures the essence of Southern India’s food culture.
Speaking about the festival, Vikas Sood, General Manager, The Leela Gandhinagar, said, “Southern Indian cuisine represents one of the most diverse and celebrated expressions of India’s culinary heritage. Through this festival, we hope to offer guests an opportunity to experience the distinctive flavours, traditions, and regional influences that continue to make these cuisines so widely cherished.”
A Journey Through the Tastes of Deccan invites guests to discover the flavours, traditions, and culinary craftsmanship that have shaped Southern India’s enduring food culture, brought together in a specially curated dining experience at Citrus Junction.
