Bestselling author Amish releases his first children’s book with Westland, called

Dhruv-Tara & The Great Indian History Quiz

New Delhi, 4thJuly 2026: Following the remarkable success of his earlier books which have sold over 8 million copies since launch, the fastest-selling author in Indian publishing history Amish, now ventures into children’s literature with Dhruv-Tara & The Great Indian History Quiz, his first book for young readers. Published by Westland Books (Imprint: Red Panda), the book is the first title in a seven-book middle-grade adventure series and is set to release on 27 July 2026.

Widely credited with reshaping the landscape of popular Indian fiction with his Shiva Trilogy, Ram Chandra Series and Indic Chronicles, Amish now turns his attention to a younger audience with a series inspired by his enduring interest in India’s history, culture, and civilisational journey.

Dhruv-Tara & The Great Indian History Quiz follows fiercely competitive Dhruv Trivedi and book-loving Tara Dhoba, students at the prestigious Nalanda International School in Mumbai, as they are drawn into the fascinating world of India’s past. What begins as a competition soon unfolds into a journey through stories of forgotten heroes & heroines, ancient universities, scientific achievements, and hidden narratives that have shaped Bharat across centuries.

Speaking about the book, Amish Tripathi said: “I loved history as a subject when I was in school. And that was because I had a great teacher who made the subject interesting, and gave us insights that were beyond the text books. The aim of the Dhruv-Tara series is to give young children a fun read, that still teaches them something, more particularly, a rooted and indigenous approach to our history. I hope that I get the same love from young readers, as I received from their parents.”

Through adventure, mystery, friendship and historical discovery, the book introduces young readers to the richness and diversity of India’s past while bringing lesser-known stories and historical milestones into the spotlight.

Commenting on the launch, Gautam Padmanabhan, Business Head Westland books, said: “Westland has had the privilege of publishing Amish’s landmark works, and we are delighted to begin this new chapter together with his first children’s book. The Dhruv-Tara series is a wonderful extension of Amish’s storytelling legacy, bringing India’s rich history alive for young readers while sparking curiosity and a lifelong love for learning.”

Vidhi Bhargava, Publisher, Red Panda, Westland Books added: “At Red Panda, we believe the best stories spark curiosity. Dhruv-Tara & The Great Indian History Quiz, the first book in this exciting new series, brings history alive through an adventure that blends India’s civilizational heritage with the thrill of quizzing, while exploring themes of rivalry, friendship, teamwork and self-discovery. We hope it inspires young readers to discover the many stories that make up India’s rich heritage.”

Perfect for readers who enjoy action-packed adventures, school competitions, unexpected discoveries and stories that make history feel engaging, relevant and alive, Dhruv-Tara offers an unforgettable reading experience that entertains while inspiring curiosity.
