Kerala, 6th July 2026 – Wipro Brahmins, part of Wipro Consumer Care & Lighting’s Foods business, has announced the launch of the Brahmins Millets Range as part of its expansion in the staples category, responding to growing consumer interest in healthier and more mindful food choices.
While millets are increasingly recognized for their nutritional benefits, taste continues to be a key barrier to wider adoption. Many consumers perceive millets as less appealing than familiar staples such as rice and wheat due to their distinct flavour profile and bitter aftertaste. Addressing this challenge, Brahmins has developed a distinctive roasting process that enhances the natural flavour of the grains while eliminating bitterness, making millets a tastier and more enjoyable choice for everyday meals.
The newly launched portfolio includes six millet varieties – Foxtail, Little, Browntop, Barnyard, Kodo, and Proso – sourced from key millet-growing regions across India. Naturally gluten-free, rich in fibre and protein, and with a relatively low glycemic index, the range is designed to bring the nutritional benefits of millets into everyday diets without compromising on taste. The millets can be incorporated into a variety of familiar dishes such as biryani, upma, curd rice, payasam, porridges, and other home-style preparations.
Speaking on the launch, Mr Anil Chugh, President – Wipro Foods, said, “At Wipro Foods, we focus on delivering products that combine taste and quality. As consumers became more mindful of their food choices and nutrition, millets continue to play an important role for a balanced diet. With the Brahmins Millets Range, we aim to bring these products into sharper focus for today’s consumers in a way that aligns traditional cooking with evolving preferences.”
Mr Sunny Thomas, Business Head – Brahmins & Nirapara, Wipro Foods said, “The launch reflects our focus on building future-ready food portfolios aligned with changing consumer needs. The range is designed to deliver consistent quality along with the convenience required for everyday cooking, while staying rooted in traditional food choices.”
The Brahmins Millets Range is available in 500g packs priced at INR 149 and comes in advanced three-layer packaging with a shelf life of 365 days. The range is currently available across Karnataka and Kerala through traditional trade channels and exclusively on Swiggy Instamart, with plans to expand to additional e-commerce platforms across metros and Tier 2 cities.
Through this launch, Wipro Brahmins aims to make millets a more appealing and accessible part of everyday meals while strengthening its presence in the evolving staples category.
