Bloomberg New Economy Debuts “Emerging,” a New Podcast Exploring the Superpowers of Tomorrow

The series debuted on July 9, listen to the first episode here

MUMBAI/NEW YORK, July 10, 2026 – Bloomberg New Economy today announced the  launch of Emerging, a new podcast series exploring the challenges and opportunities  facing some of the world’s most exciting, rising economies. The six-episode limited  series will run in the lead-up to and following the Bloomberg New Economy Forum (the  Forum) held in New Delhi this October, and will span both audio and video. Emerging  premiered on July 9.

Hosted by Bloomberg News Senior Editor Menaka Doshi and Bloomberg TV Anchor  Haslinda Amin, Emerging offers a guide to the new economies shaping the future of  everything from AI to entertainment. In each episode, Doshi and Amin sit down with  influential decision-makers, innovators, and thought leaders for deep-dive conversations

on critical topics impacting the superpowers of tomorrow.

Kicking off the series on July 9, the debut episode shines a spotlight on the AI haves  and have-nots among emerging economies. Doshi is joined by two leading voices in  India’s AI industry: Srikanth Velamakanni, Co-Founder, Group Chief Executive and  Executive Vice-Chairman of Fractal Analytics, India’s first publicly listed pure-play AI  company; and Ganesh Ramakrishnan, professor of AI, machine learning, and natural  language processing at the Indian Institute of Technology, Bombay. Together, they will  explore how India can gain an edge in AI when the technology is heavily dominated by  the U.S. and China.

Subsequent episodes of Emerging will be published on the first Thursday of each month  from August to December, and will tackle diverse themes including whether Singapore  is truly the best model for rapid economic development, and the importance of soft  power in a country’s rise. Future guests include Praveer Sinha, CEO and Managing  Director of Tata Power Company Limited, one of India’s oldest and largest integrated  power utilities, Mohit Bhargava, Country Director of the India Energy & Climate Center  at UC Berkeley’s Goldman School of Public Policy, and many other experts and leaders.

The podcast series draws inspiration from the theme of the eighth Bloomberg New  Economy Forum, “A World in Play: Defining the New Levers of Power.” Convening for  the first time in New Delhi from October 13-15, 2026, the Forum will bring together over  500 public and private sector leaders from around the world. Delegates will examine the  changing state of geopolitics, identify the risks and opportunities presented by this  period of uncertainty, exchange ideas, and collaborate on a roadmap toward future  prosperity.

Emerging is available in both video and audio formats, and can be found on  Bloomberg.com, Bloomberg TV, YouTube, Apple Podcasts, the iHeartRadio app and  Spotify.
