JioStar’s Rubbal Datta to Join Mandrake Tech Labs as CEO-Designate to Lead AI-Driven Media Growth and New Initiatives

New Delhi, [July 16, 2026] Mandrake Tech Labs, a boutique media firm built on a 360° media action philosophy and known for its work in government communications, today named Rubbal Datta as CEO-Designate. Datta will join Mandrake in August 2026.

Datta brings over 26 years of leadership across government relations, media, and sports broadcasting, with senior roles at JioStar (formerly Disney Star), Sahara India TV Network, Moser Baer, EuroKids, and Mahindra & Mahindra. He has deep experience working across Indian and South Asian markets.

Commenting on the appointment, the Mandrake Board said:

“Rubbal’s experience across government relations, public advocacy, and stakeholder engagement aligns directly with where we’re taking Mandrake. We’re confident in his ability to strengthen our market position and lead our push into AI-integrated media solutions and expanded public sector work.”

Datta laid out his priorities for the role:

“I want to sharpen what Mandrake already does well — government communications — and bring AI into how we plan and run our campaigns. Beyond that, my focus is on getting Mandrake into newer businesses and scaling up what we’ve already built.”

Since its incorporation in 2021, Mandrake has delivered high-profile campaigns for the Ministry of Ayush (International Day of Yoga), the Ministry of Food Processing (World Food India), NFDC, and the WHO Traditional Medicine Summit, among others.
