Srikalahasti, Tirupati District, Andhra Pradesh, 23rd July, 2026: Shri Bojjala Venkata Sudheer Reddy, Hon’ble MLA, Srikalahasti Assembly Constituency, Government of Andhra Pradesh, inaugurated and handed over a set of community assets aimed at strengthening access to safe drinking water and early childhood care across the region.
The initiatives were undertaken in partnership with Hindustan Coca-Cola Beverages (HCCB) under its flagship community partnership programme, Project SHINE. The assets were dedicated to the community in the presence of Shri Himanshu Priyadarshi, Chief Public Affairs, Communications & Sustainability Officer, HCCB, along with local officials, representatives from HCCB, and community members.
As part of the initiative, two RO water filtration units were inaugurated — one at Kalujumitta, Challapalem Gram Panchayat, and another at T.N.V Kandriga Village, both in Srikalahasti Mandal, Tirupati District. The units will provide villagers with reliable access to safe drinking water, addressing a critical everyday need and enhancing the quality of life in these communities.
Reinforcing the focus on early childhood development, an Anganwadi centre at BC Colony, Challapalem Gram Panchayat, Srikalahasti Mandal was upgraded and dedicated to the local community. The improved facility will enhance the environment for early childhood care and learning, supporting the wellbeing and development of children in the area.
Speaking at the inauguration, Shri Bojjala Venkata Sudheer Reddy, Hon’ble MLA, Srikalahasti Assembly Constituency, said, “Ensuring access to safe drinking water and strengthening early childhood care are fundamental to improving the standard of life in our rural areas, and these remain core priorities for the Government of Andhra Pradesh. The RO water filtration units at Kalujumitta in Challapalem Gram Panchayat and T.N.V Kandriga Village, along with the upgraded Anganwadi centre at BC Colony, will directly benefit families in these communities and support progress in neighbouring villages as well. Partnerships with organisations like HCCB reflect a collaborative approach to meeting local needs and strengthening rural communities across the Srikalahasti region.”
HCCB has a significant footprint in Andhra Pradesh, operating two state-of-the-art manufacturing plants at Srikalahasti in Tirupati district and Atmakuru in Guntur district. Through its flagship community partnership programme, Project SHINE, HCCB continues to implement a range of community-focused initiatives across the state, including health and hygiene awareness programmes, waste management projects, access to safe drinking water, and skill development programmes for women and youth. These region-specific interventions reflect HCCB’s sustained commitment to addressing local needs and fostering inclusive and sustainable development in Srikalahasti and neighbouring communities.
