August 04, 2026: Business Today, in partnership with the Adani Group, successfully concluded the Business Today Infrastructure Summit 2026, bringing together policymakers, industry leaders, infrastructure experts and investors to deliberate on the future of India’s infrastructure ecosystem under the theme ‘Infra India 2047: Building India’s Next Growth Cycle.’
Delivering the special session, G. Kishan Reddy, Union Minister of Coal and Mines, emphasized the need to accelerate mineral exploration, strengthen domestic mining capabilities and build resilient critical mineral value chains to support India’s long-term infrastructure and economic ambitions. He highlighted the growing strategic importance of critical minerals, digital connectivity, renewable energy, battery storage and semiconductor manufacturing, noting that these sectors will be central to enhancing India’s economic resilience, technological self-reliance and national security.
Aligned with the vision of a Viksit Bharat 2047, speakers shared their views on the policy priorities, investments and innovation needed to build resilient, sustainable and technology-driven infrastructure. Discussions on India’s evolving energy landscape emphasized the need for energy storage, grid modernization, domestic manufacturing and clean energy technologies. Experts agreed that long-term energy security will depend on moving beyond capacity addition towards a balanced mix of conventional and renewable energy.
Speaking at the summit, Sumant Sinha, Founder, Chairman and CEO, ReNew, revealed that India’s renewable energy transition has reached a significant inflection point. He spoke on the importance of scaling energy storage, strengthening domestic manufacturing, securing critical mineral supply chains and expanding clean energy applications beyond electricity generation to achieve long-term energy independence and global competitiveness.
The summit also examined the future of India’s digital infrastructure, with discussions focusing on artificial intelligence, semiconductor manufacturing, cybersecurity, data centres and Digital Public Infrastructure (DPI). Experts highlighted how India’s digital ecosystem—including Aadhaar, UPI, DigiLocker and other public digital platforms—has created a globally recognized model for inclusive growth while emphasizing the need for AI-ready infrastructure and resilient digital networks to power the country’s next phase of economic transformation.
Urban mobility formed another key focus area, with experts calling for integrated planning through Unified Metropolitan Transport Authorities (UMTAs), stronger multimodal connectivity and improved last-mile transport. Discussions underscored the need for coordinated governance and integrated urban planning to reduce congestion and enhance livability across India’s rapidly growing cities.
A session on maritime infrastructure and logistics had experts discussing the transformative potential of Sagarmala 2.0 in strengthening port-led development, multimodal logistics and integrated supply chains. The discussions underscored how efficient logistics and world-class port infrastructure will be critical in improving India’s competitiveness as a global manufacturing and trading hub.
The summit dwelt into infrastructure financing, with innovative funding models, institutional partnerships and attracting long-term domestic and global investment across key sectors setting the tone. Another session saw the role of sustainable engineering, advanced manufacturing, digital technologies and innovation in building high-quality, globally competitive infrastructure at scale being discussed.
In the concluding sessions, speakers agreed that India’s infrastructure story was now entering a transformative phase where physical infrastructure, digital capabilities, clean energy and strategic manufacturing need to evolve together. As India advances towards Viksit Bharat 2047, stronger collaboration between government, industry and investors will be critical to building resilient infrastructure that drives inclusive growth and reinforces India’s global competitiveness.
The Business Today Infrastructure Summit 2026 reaffirmed its role as a leading platform for shaping India’s infrastructure agenda. By bringing together policymakers, industry leaders and experts, it fostered meaningful dialogue, strategic collaboration and actionable ideas to accelerate the country’s journey towards Viksit Bharat 2047.
