Bumble and SoPositive with Ananya Panday explore authenticity in modern dating with Anuv Jain

India, 10 August 2026  Creating a safer and more confident dating experience has always been central to Bumble’s mission. Through its partnership with SoPositive, Bumble is bringing conversations around trust and authenticity into popular culture, helping singles navigate modern dating with greater confidence.

For the second episode of the series, Ananya Panday sits down with actor and singer Anuv Jain to discuss first impressions, online personas and the challenge of figuring out whether someone is truly being themselves. Through personal anecdotes and observations, the conversation explores what feels genuine, what feels performative and why trust has become such an important part of dating today.

Ananya Panday and Anuv Jain  discuss what authenticity really looks like in the age of curated online personas. Reflecting on everything from dating profiles to prompts, the episode explores why showing up as your genuine self and letting your personality lead the conversation creates more meaningful and intentional connections.

Anuv Jain (Episode 2: Is This Person Actually Real?) said,As someone who writes about love and longing, I’ve always been fascinated by how we present ourselves versus who we actually are. Online, it’s easy to curate a version of yourself that feels ‘safe’ but real connection happens when you drop the filter. I think tools like profile verification actually take the pressure off. When you know someone is real, you can focus on what matters: do we actually vibe?”

The discussion is particularly relevant at a time when trust remains a key priority for singles. Bumble’s latest insights show that nearly 7 in 10 (68.55%) single Indians say photo verification increases their trust in a match, while 79.55% verify a match’s profile or identity before meeting in person. Additionally, 94.20% of single Indians consider safety features important when choosing a dating app. The episode highlights Bumble features such as Profile Verification and Best Photo, designed to help people show up authentically and connect with confidence.
