The women’s wellness industry in India is undergoing a profound transformation. What was once largely associated with beauty and fitness has evolved into a holistic movement encompassing preventive healthcare, hormonal health, mental wellbeing, nutrition, self-care, and personalised wellness. As women become increasingly informed and proactive about their health, they are seeking not just products but trusted ecosystems that simplify choices, offer credible guidance, and support them through every stage of their wellness journey.
Recognising this shift, Kashika Malhotra, Founder & CEO of Yoginii, set out to build a platform designed exclusively for women one that goes beyond conventional e-commerce to create a curated wellness ecosystem. By bringing together trusted brands, expert insights, educational content, and a growing community, Yoginii is redefining how women discover and engage with wellness in India. The platform reflects a larger industry trend where trust, authenticity, and informed decision-making are becoming just as important as the products themselves.
In this exclusive conversation with Passionate in Marketing, Kashika Malhotra shares the vision behind Yoginii, the evolving landscape of women’s wellness, the importance of building consumer trust in an increasingly crowded market, and why the future of wellness lies in creating meaningful, purpose-driven experiences rather than simply offering more choices.
- What inspired you to launch Yoginii, and what personal experience or insight shaped the idea behind a women-first wellness marketplace?
Women’s wellness has traditionally been underserved despite women being the primary decision-makers for health and wellbeing in most households. While there has been a surge in wellness brands, the ecosystem remained fragmented, making it difficult for women to discover trusted products tailored to their unique needs.
We launched Yoginii to bridge that gap by creating a dedicated women’s wellness platform that simplifies discovery while prioritising trust, quality, and credibility. Whether it’s hormonal health, nutrition, skincare, fitness, intimate wellness, or mental wellbeing, women deserve one destination where they can find curated solutions backed by informed choices rather than overwhelming options.
At Yoginii, our vision extends beyond commerce. We are building a trusted wellness ecosystem that combines carefully curated products, expert-led education, and a supportive community, enabling women to take charge of their wellbeing with confidence.
- Launching a startup in the competitive wellness space is challenging. What has been your biggest learning since founding Yoginii?
One of our biggest learnings has been that the future of wellness belongs to trust, not transactions. Consumers today are more informed than ever, but they are also navigating an overwhelming amount of conflicting information. Simply offering products is no longer enough they are looking for credible recommendations, transparency, and brands that genuinely prioritise their wellbeing.
At Yoginii, we have learned that curation creates far greater value than endless choice. Every product and brand on our platform is selected with quality, efficacy, and consumer trust in mind.
We’ve also seen a significant shift in how women approach wellness. Preventive healthcare, hormonal health, gut health, mental wellbeing, and clean beauty have moved from niche conversations to mainstream priorities. This reinforces our belief that wellness platforms must evolve from being retail destinations into knowledge-driven ecosystems that educate, empower, and build lasting consumer trust.
- How do you define wellness for the modern Indian woman, and how is that philosophy reflected in Yoginii’s vision?
For today’s Indian woman, wellness is becoming increasingly holistic. It is no longer defined by beauty standards or occasional self-care rituals it is about building long-term physical, emotional, and mental resilience.
Women today are actively seeking solutions that support hormonal balance, stress management, nutrition, fitness, sleep, preventive healthcare, and overall quality of life. They want wellness to fit seamlessly into their everyday lives rather than feeling like an additional responsibility.
This philosophy is at the heart of Yoginii. Our goal is to simplify women’s wellness by bringing together trusted products, credible information, and expert guidance under one platform. We want every woman to feel empowered to make informed decisions about her health because access to the right knowledge and solutions is the foundation of lifelong wellbeing.
- In less than a year, Yoginii has built a strong ecosystem of brands, experts, and consumers. What do you believe has been the key to this early momentum?
Our growth has been driven by one fundamental belief that trust is built through relevance and authenticity.
Instead of focusing on becoming the largest marketplace, we have focused on becoming the most trusted destination for women’s wellness. Every partnership is carefully curated, every product aligns with our quality standards, and every collaboration is designed to create genuine value for women.
Equally important has been our emphasis on education and community. Today’s consumers don’t simply want products; they want context, expert guidance, and confidence in the choices they make. By bringing together wellness professionals, emerging brands, and meaningful conversations, we’ve built an ecosystem that supports informed decision-making rather than impulse consumption.
We believe this community-first approach has been instrumental in building credibility and driving our early momentum.
- As a woman entrepreneur building a purpose-led business, what leadership values have guided you through your entrepreneurial journey?
Building Yoginii has reinforced my belief that businesses create lasting impact when they are driven by purpose rather than simply pursuing growth.
The values that guide me every day are empathy, authenticity, and long-term thinking. Women’s wellness is deeply personal, and understanding those evolving needs requires listening before leading. Whether it’s working with wellness brands, experts, or consumers, we constantly ask ourselves how we can create meaningful value rather than simply offering another product.
I also believe leadership is about building trust with your team, your partners, and your customers. When your purpose is clear and your decisions consistently reflect that purpose, growth becomes far more sustainable.
Ultimately, my role is not just to build a successful company, but to contribute to a larger movement where women’s wellbeing receives the attention, investment, and innovation it truly deserves.
- What is your long-term vision for Yoginii, and how do you see it transforming women’s wellness in India over the next five years?
Our long-term vision is to establish Yoginii as India’s most trusted women’s wellness ecosystem a platform that empowers women with access to curated products, credible knowledge, expert guidance, and a like-minded community.
The next five years will redefine the wellness industry. We expect to see tremendous growth in preventive healthcare, hormonal health, personalised nutrition, mental wellbeing, clean beauty, and longevity-focused wellness. Women will increasingly seek science-backed, transparent, and personalised solutions rather than one-size-fits-all products.
Yoginii aims to be at the centre of this transformation by making trusted wellness solutions easier to discover while encouraging informed health choices. Our aspiration is to shift the conversation from reactive healthcare to proactive wellbeing, helping women invest in their health every day not only when challenges arise.
- What advice would you give to aspiring women entrepreneurs looking to build impactful businesses in the health and wellness sector?
The biggest opportunity in wellness today is not creating another product it’s solving a real problem with authenticity and purpose.
Women are looking for brands that understand their evolving health needs and provide solutions they can genuinely trust. That trust is built through transparency, education, consistency, and a relentless focus on quality.
I would encourage aspiring entrepreneurs to spend more time understanding consumers than competitors. Listen to women, understand the gaps that still exist in their wellness journeys, and build solutions that create meaningful impact rather than chasing trends.
The future of the wellness industry will belong to businesses that combine innovation with empathy and place community, education, and trust at the heart of everything they do. That’s where lasting value and lasting impact will be created.
