Uber Partners with ixigo to Offer Train Ticket Booking on the Uber App

Bengaluru, 18 August, 2026: Uber today announced the launch of Train Ticket Booking on the Uber app in partnership with ixigo, India’s leading AI-native travel platform. The new offering enables riders to book train tickets, check their PNR status, and seamlessly connect their first and last-mile journeys with Uber, all within a single app.

The launch builds on Uber’s continued expansion of its intercity travel offerings in India. With Train Ticket Booking, Uber continues to expand its portfolio of intercity travel options, leveraging ixigo’s market-leading train booking technology and seamless post-booking experience, making it easier for riders to plan every stage of their journey through a single, trusted platform.

Train travel remains one of the most preferred modes of long-distance transportation in India, with Indian Railways carrying 741 crore passengers in FY2025–26. As the online train ticketing market continues to grow, Uber and ixigo are partnering to make train travel more convenient by integrating ixigo’s train ticket booking with Uber’s first- and last-mile mobility, giving riders a simpler and more connected travel experience.

Commenting on the partnership, Arnab Kumar, Director, Business Development, Uber India and South Asia, said, “Train journeys are an integral part of how India travels. For millions of people, the journey starts well before they board the train and continues long after they arrive at their destination. With Train Ticket Booking on the Uber app, riders can now book their train tickets, check their PNR status, and seamlessly connect to and from the railway station, all within a single app. We’re pleased to partner with ixigo to bring together their expertise in train ticketing with Uber’s mobility platform, making the overall travel experience more seamless and convenient for riders.”

Aloke Bajpai,Group CEO & Rajnish Kumar , Group Co-CEO, ixigo said, “As India’s largest OTA in the train category, our focus has always been on making rail travel simpler, more reliable and stress-free. Beyond booking tickets, we’ve continued to invest in a seamless post-booking experience, better customer support and innovative features that give travellers greater peace of mind throughout their journey. By partnering with Uber, we’re extending that experience beyond the train itself, enabling travellers to plan their journey seamlessly from their doorstep to their destination.”

The launch also builds on Uber’s presence at railway stations across India. Through dedicated pickup and drop-off zones from Ahmedabad in the West to Secunderabad in the South to Howrah in the East to many new big railway stations soon, Uber already helps millions of riders connect to and from their train journeys. By adding Train Ticket Booking to the Uber app, Uber is extending this experience beyond station connectivity to support travellers throughout their journey.

With this launch, Uber continues to strengthen its multimodal mobility platform, which today spans Moto, Auto, Cars, Metro, Intercity Cars, Intercity Buses, and now Train Ticket Booking.
