Mumbai, 27th August 2026: Inspira Global today announced the appointment of Umesh Shankarlal Varma as Group Head of Information Technology, with group-wide responsibility for technology strategy, digital transformation, technology governance and IT operations across its diverse portfolio of businesses, including Lenexis Foodworks, Inspira Realty and Seva Home.
In his new role, Umesh will lead the group’s technology agenda across these businesses, with a focus on five key priorities: driving business and digital transformation; building scalable and modern technology infrastructure; strengthening capabilities in data, AI and analytics; establishing a robust IT organization, governance and cost optimization framework; and reinforcing cybersecurity, risk management and resilience across the group’s technology ecosystem.
Umesh brings over 18 years of technology and digital transformation leadership across QSR, retail, fashion and consumer businesses. He joins Inspira Global from Sapphire Foods India Limited, the master franchisee for KFC and Pizza Hut in India, where, as Head of IT Products & POS, he led the development and rollout of an in-house POS platform and Order Management System that together targeted ₹120 million in annual cost savings, while scaling the product organization from 4 to 23 members.
Earlier in his career, at Aditya Birla Retail and More Retail, Umesh built the company’s first web and phone ordering platforms and played a key role in scaling the Amazon Fresh order management ecosystem from zero to ₹300 crore in revenue.
Across his career, he has built and transformed large-scale technology platforms, led digital transformation initiatives and delivered technology solutions with measurable business impact across complex, multi-location consumer and retail environments.
As Group Head of Information Technology, Umesh will work closely with the leadership teams of Lenexis Foodworks, Inspira Realty and Seva Home to develop a common technology vision and operating framework while addressing the distinct technology needs of each business.
For Lenexis Foodworks, his focus will include strengthening digital and technology capabilities across its QSR operations, enabling scalable store technology, improving customer and operational platforms, and leveraging data and analytics to drive business performance.
For Inspira Realty and Seva Home, Umesh will focus on building technology foundations that support the real estate and housing businesses, including digital customer journeys, sales and CRM platforms, business process automation, data-driven decision-making, project and operational systems, and integrated enterprise technology platforms.
Across the group, Umesh will work towards creating a secure, scalable and integrated technology ecosystem that enables businesses to operate more efficiently, make better use of data, improve customer experiences and accelerate growth. His mandate will also include establishing common standards for IT governance, cybersecurity, infrastructure, technology architecture, vendor management and cost optimization while allowing individual businesses the flexibility to address their specific operational requirements.
Commenting on the appointment, Aayush Madhusudan Agrawal, Founder and Director, Inspira Global, said: “As Inspira Global continues to scale across its portfolio of businesses, technology is central to how we build efficient, resilient and future-ready operations. Umesh brings a rare combination of deep retail-tech expertise and a proven record of building platforms that deliver measurable business impact. We’re glad to have him leading this function as we bring a shared technology vision to Lenexis Foodworks, Inspira Realty and Seva Home.”
Umesh Shankarlal Varma, Group Head of Information Technology, Inspira Global, said: “Having spent my career building large-scale retail and QSR technology platforms, I’m excited to bring that experience to Inspira Global at a time when the group is scaling rapidly. My focus will be on strengthening our technology foundations, from digital transformation and data-led decision-making to governance and cybersecurity, so that we can scale efficiently while continuing to improve the experience we deliver to our customers.”
