Cityflo Partners with Project Mumbai to Bring ‘Turning Pages’ to Mumbai’s Daily Commute

The collaboration transforms everyday commute time into an opportunity to rediscover reading in an increasingly digital-first world

Mumbai, September 1st, 2026: Cityflo, India’s leading urban transit bus commute service. In partnership with Project Mumbai, the city’s people-first initiative, has launched ‘Turning Pages’, a collaboration that transforms select Cityflo buses into moving mini libraries, giving commuters the opportunity to read, borrow and exchange books during their everyday office travel. The collaboration aligns with Cityflo’s commitment to making daily commutes more meaningful, and Project Mumbai’s efforts to foster a culture of reading across the city.

The collaboration is part of Project Mumbai’s larger ‘Read Mumbai’ movement, which aims to encourage a culture of reading across the city. Through Turning Pages, Cityflo seeks to make the daily commute more meaningful by creating an opportunity for passengers to step away from their screens and reconnect with reading. In the midst of Mumbai’s fast-paced urban life, the collaboration aims to create one of the few uninterrupted moments in the day where passengers can pause, read and add more value to their journey.

As a pilot, a select number of Cityflo buses will feature a curated collection of books spanning genres including fiction, business, self-development, biographies and contemporary Indian writing. Commuters can choose from the selection of books and read it during their journey. Passengers can also donate books to help expand the collection and recommend titles for fellow co-passengers.

Speaking about the collaboration, Sankalp Kelshikar, CMO & Co-founder, Cityflo, said, “The commute is often the only stretch of the day a Mumbaikar has entirely to themselves. Through our collaboration with Project Mumbai, we’re giving that time back to something most of us struggle to make room for – reading. The books onboard, donated by the Project Mumbai community, offer our customers access to a variety of great reads and new ideas on their daily journey, and gives customers the opportunity to pay it forward with their own book donations on the bus.”

Shishir Joshi, CEO and Founder of Project Mumbai, added, “For us at Project Mumbai, this initiative with Cityflo binds three critical elements. Tapping into the energy of Mumbaikars, who are known to always be on the move; a dash of collaborative philanthropy through partnerships that this city thrives on; and building on the goodness of citizens, thus making Mumbai the Kindness Capital of India.”

Through the collaboration, Cityflo and Project Mumbai hope to demonstrate how small, thoughtful interventions can add greater meaning to everyday urban experiences, bringing together mobility, culture and community, one journey at a time.
