New Delhi, September 4, 2026: The inaugural India Connected TV & FAST Council (ICFC) roundtable, convened by Runn Media Labs (RunnTV), today saw several senior leaders from across India’s Connected TV (CTV) and Free Ad-Supported Streaming Television (FAST) ecosystem coming together to discuss common industry priorities and explore areas where collective action could create greater transparency, trust, standardisation and sustainable growth.
This roundtable was an informal industry gathering to discuss the need and potential way forward in forming an independent, inclusive and authoritative industry body that can help drive growth, trust and global leadership for India’s CTV & FAST ecosystem. The inaugural session saw participation from leading players like JioStar, Zee, Magnite, Trade Desk and CloudTV.
A significant focus of the roundtable was on exploring the need, scope and potential role of an industry body, including key industry challenges and opportunities, as well as its proposed structure, governance, funding model, membership categories and stakeholder representation. Discussions emphasised the importance of creating a genuinely independent and inclusive institution, with balanced representation across stakeholder segments and safeguards to ensure that it is not dominated by any single company or industry segment.
The inaugural session brought together senior industry leaders from across the CTV and FAST value chain, including leading broadcasters, FAST and OEM platforms, content and channel owners, brands, and advertising agencies.
Commenting on the inaugural session, Manish Sinha, Founder and CEO, RunnTV, said: “India’s CTV and FAST ecosystem is growing rapidly, but it remains fragmented and underserved by infrastructure. Today, it is heartening to see that the leading players of the industry have come together to take steps towards the creation of common standards, shared measurement, and a credible industry voice. The inaugural session of the ICFC Roundtable is our endeavour to start that conversation in an open, inclusive way, and it had a great start. It couldn’t have been a better time for the industry to come together to discuss the road ahead for the industry.”
“Considering the strong shift in user behaviour towards OTT and FAST on CTV, we believe the Indian CTV ecosystem is set for significant and most crucial growth this decade. We needed an industry level push to harness this ecosystem’s full potential for all stakeholders and this initiative is a great start at the right time,” said Abhijeet Rajpurohit, COO, CloudTV.
ICFC’s inaugural roundtable comes at a time when the government is taking steps to create a formal regulatory framework for FAST and Application-based Linear Television Distribution (ATLD) services. The roundtable also discussed ways to track audience measurement, industry standards and quality, data and privacy, research and insights, policy engagement, and broader ecosystem collaboration. The roundtable was intended to assess the degree of alignment and appetite across the ecosystem for collective action, and to explore what such an initiative could meaningfully look like.
