Gautam Hari Singhania Unveils ‘Creating Classrooms Where Every Child Belongs’, Educator Revathi Srinivasan’s Book on Radical Inclusion

Bengaluru, 8th September: Gautam Hari Singhania, Chairman and Managing Director, Raymond Limited, today unveiled the  book ‘Creating Classrooms Where Every Child Belongs’ taking forward his mission to expand access to quality education.  Authored by Revathi Srinivasan, Director Education and Principal, Smt. Sulochanadevi Singhania School (affiliated with  Raymond Group’s JK Trust), and published by HarperCollins India, the book encapsulates more than thirty years of practice at  the school founded by the Singhania family in 1968, and makes a case for radical inclusion in the Indian education system  through twelve real-life stories of children who found their way through inherent challenges.

Gautam Hari Singhania, Raymond Group CMD, highlighted at the event, At Raymond, education has always been central to  what we believe we owe the next generation. Principal Revathi’s book is a powerful reminder that real change in a child’s life  often begins with something as simple as being seen, heard and given opportunities. It is this conviction that drives my own  commitment to educate 1 lakh children across India over the next 5 years. Every child deserves education and is in line with our  nation’s goal to be a Viksit Bharat by 2047.”

Revathi Srinivasan, Director Education and Principal, Smt. Sulochanadevi Singhania School, said, “Every child who walks into  a classroom is silently asking one question — do I belong here? This book is built on the true stories of children who taught me  that when we choose to answer yes, everything else follows: confidence, curiosity, and the courage to become who they are  meant to be. These are not merely stories of individual children, but a tribute to the transformative power of education. Every  classroom is not just a space for academic lessons, but a crucible where character, courage and connection are forged.”

The book follows a thirteen-year-old boy from a village who overcomes social bullying in the city to become the first in his  family to pass Class 10, and a kindergartener with cerebral palsy who joins a school with no roadmap to support her, and  whose presence sets the institution itself on a path of transformation. Across its stories runs a single finding: only when  individuals are seen, heard and valued do they reach their true potential.

Written for teachers, parents and changemakers, the book positions children as the most overlooked thought leaders of all — whose unfiltered honesty and instinctive curiosity challenge norms, expose bias and prompt the breakthroughs adults often  defer.

Grounded in a commitment to equal opportunity and holistic education, Smt. Sulochanadevi Singhania School has long  extended its influence beyond its own campuses — building teacher capability, advising on state education policy, and  mentoring educators across institutions. Revathi Srinivasan, an award-winning educator and founder of eleven schools, sits on  several government advisory committees on school education in Maharashtra, is a jury member for the Krantijyoti Savitribai  Phule State Teacher Award, and has advised the Council for Indian School Certificate Examinations and the Maharashtra state  government. She is also Chief Mentor of Singhania Quest Plus, an ed-tech platform.

Over five decades, the school has shaped the lives of nearly 4 lakh graduating students, consistently ranking first in the country  in the ‘Day School’ category.
