Apollo Hospitals’ Suganthy Sundararaj Honoured with AHMP Lifetime Achievement Award

Chennai, September 10, 2026: Ms Suganthy Sundararaj, Regional Head, Public Relations, Apollo Hospitals, Chennai, has been conferred the Lifetime Achievement Award by the Association of Healthcare Marketing Professionals (AHMP) India Foundation, in recognition of her distinguished contribution to healthcare public relations and communications spanning over four decades.

Suganthy’s journey at Apollo Hospitals is one of growth shaped by instinct, commitment and an exceptional ability to build relationships. Beginning as a junior PR executive, she grew alongside Apollo, taking on larger responsibilities as the organisation expanded across the country. Over four decades, she has emerged a deeply respected voice among stakeholders, building a reputation founded on credibility, transparency and integrity. Her journey is a powerful reminder that careers are not defined by where they begin, but by the trust earned and the difference made along the way.

She has also held leadership positions within the Public Relations Society of India and the wider PR fraternity, including serving as the first woman Chairperson of PRSI in its four-decade history. Her contribution to the profession has been recognised through several honours, including the PRSI National Award for Outstanding Contributions to Healthcare Communications, presented at the International Public Relations Festival in New Delhi, and induction into the PR Hall of Fame at the Chanakya Awards in Goa. She has also given generously of her time as a mentor, lecturing and sharing knowledge with corporate, academic and professional institutions.

Commenting on the recognition, Ms Suganthy said, “This recognition is deeply meaningful to me, as my journey has grown alongside Apollo Hospitals for over four decades. I have had the privilege of witnessing Apollo grow into a globally respected healthcare institution, while finding opportunities to learn, contribute and grow at every stage. I remain deeply grateful to my colleagues, the media and the many people who have been part of this journey. I hope my experience inspires young PR professionals to build their careers on resilience, integrity and a commitment to excellence.”

The award celebrates Suganthy Sundararaj’s enduring contribution to healthcare communications and her commitment to fostering transparency, trust and understanding between hospitals and the public they serve.
