Bengaluru, 14 September 2026: From preparing homes to welcoming Bappa with loved ones, Ganesh Chaturthi brought together tradition, celebration, and community across India. This festive spirit was reflected in how consumers shopped on Flipkart Minutes, with 2.5x growth in demand across categories including festive décor, puja essentials, ethnic wear, sweets, and gifting. Wall decorations, altar cloth, chowki, bindi, and deity dress were among the fastest-growing categories, while searches for chowki, pooja aasan cloth, Ganesh idols, dhoop and agarbatti, and bundi laddu offered a glimpse into what was on shoppers’ festive lists.
The momentum extended across the country. Metros including Bengaluru, Delhi, and Mumbai led demand, while Tier 2 and Tier 3 cities including Patna, Lucknow, and Guwahati recorded 8x growth in sales during the festive period. Gen Z recorded 3x growth in demand, with eco-friendly Ganesh idols, fruits, flowers, and dry fruits and nuts among the most-shopped categories for younger consumers reflecting how digital-first shoppers are bringing convenience to traditional festive celebrations.
Shopping patterns evolved throughout the Ganesh Chaturthi celebrations. Ganesh idols grew 5x and modaks saw a 4x spike among the most ordered items during the festive period. 6 AM to 11 AM emerged as the busiest shopping window, highlighting how quick commerce increasingly complements different moments across festive celebrations.
Through its dedicated Ganesh Chaturthi store, Flipkart Minutes brought together modaks and sweets, flowers, fruits, puja essentials, and festive décor for consumers across India.
Flipkart Minutes also rolled out a series of marketing activations across Mumbai, from print campaigns following Bappa’s journey and a Mukh Darshan jacket innovation, to a flower shower during Visarjan, a digital OOH installation on the Mumbai-Pune highway, and branded pandal sponsorships across the city. The activations brought together cultural resonance to connect with customers at the heart of one of India’s most beloved festive occasions.
