Shaju S. assumes office as the Chairman of ULCCS

15th September, Bengaluru: Mr. Shaju S. has assumed office as the Chairman of Uralungal Labour Contract Co operative Society (ULCCS) after being elected unanimously by the Directors today. The election took place at the Board of Directors meeting of the society presided over by Smt. Rajini M., the officer authorised by the Office of the Kerala State Co-operative Election Commission. Chief General Manager K. Praveen Kumar has been given the charge of Managing Director. 

The new Chairman was elected following the sad demise of former Chairman Shri. Remeshan Palery. The Board paid  tribute to his leadership and significant contributions to the growth and development of ULCCS. 

Mr. Shaju S., who joined ULCCS as a clerk in 1997, later held various responsibilities in the organization and served  as Secretary and MD for 17 years since 2009. His long association with the Society and extensive experience across its various stages of growth are among his key strengths. 

He worked closely with Shri. Remeshan Palery during several important phases of ULCCS’s development and  played an active role in the establishment and growth of its associate institutions, including UL Cyber Park, UL  Technology Solutions (ULTS), U-Sphere, UL Actant and UL Nshore. His experience as a Director of these institutions  has given him a strong understanding of their operations and development potential. 

The new Chairman has deep-rooted family ties with the society. His grandfather S. Kanaran and great grandfather M. Pokkayi were the founding members of the cooperative, a century ago. His father, S. Kumaran, served the Society as a worker, leader and later as a Director. 

His close association with Shri. Remeshan Palery and his experience in implementing major developmentinitiatives will be a strong foundation for the new leadership. Shri. Shaju S. aims to carry forward Shri. Remeshan Palery’s  vision and legacy and take ULCCS to greater heights. 

Under hisleadership, ULCCS aimsto furtherstrengthen its presence in the construction and infrastructure sectors,  expand its operations beyond Kerala and India and establish international presence. The Society will also explore  new opportunities in IT, real estate, tourism and hospitality. 

Adoption of new technologies, improved operational efficiency, creation of employment opportunities, financial  sustainability and the welfare of members and employees will remain key priorities, Shri. Shaju S. said. 

He furtherstated that, while remaining firmly rooted in the values of labour cooperation, his vision is to build ULCCS  into a stronger, sustainable and globally recognised institution, while carrying forward the dreams and legacy of Shri.  Remeshan Palery.
